Constant Villegas : Tue Mar 24, 2009 4:16 am
Can someone give me a fix on the performances of Constant Villegas?

He was being trumpeted as a great new find for the halves about a year ago.

Have his performances this year warranted these past predictions?

Looking at the youtube footage, he was definitely the one whose initial bad missed tackle on Ropati led to Sheffield's winning try on Saturday.

They really need to sort out the defence on the left wing which is where most of the points are coming.

He played full back for the two games in England, with Delgal at 6. I thought he was the only one of the french players to come out of the Widnes game with much credit.

Can you give me a precise adress for the footage?

Well, typing "Toulouse Sheffield" into the youtube search bar gives

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAtQ9p3p6nc

(about 1:40 in)

It would be unfair to single just one player out for such a lapse in tackling. About half the team should have stopped that move.

TO looked okay before trying the drop, hopefully positives for the future.

Absolutely - the left side of defence has looked poor in every game, I've seen; individual players tackle OK , but no sense of any defensive organisation between them.
Can't see them being able to contain Whitehaven's pack this w/end, another heavy defeat in prospect, I think.

Whitehaven : Sun Mar 29, 2009 2:40 pm
You can't argue with a score of 40-26, but the team weren't that bad. Once again, they were on the end of a very heavy penalty count, (12--4) Even at the end the Toulouse lads said, "we can't even buy a penalty!) And what gets to me is that the Olympique are not a dirty team. (Mind you, when my friend who went with me was privy to a conversation between a groundsman and the referee, which stated that the ref should have got a camp bed beacuse he spent so much time at Whitehaven, it makes you think a bit?)

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
