Whilst perusing a well known online auction site the other day Barry McKenzie noticed a book for sale called 'The Family Game.. The untold story of hooliganism in Rugby League'
Personally I've never witnessed any disorder at any footy games I've attended. I remember some Penrith and Parra supporters fighting about 10 years ago on Parra train station, seeing on the news some Hull Fans invading the pitch once after a game and I vaguely recall reading about some amateur clubs fans (Doncaster?) fighting in the sheds with someone last year.
So has anyone experienced any crowd trouble at games?
And I dont mean Harlequins crowd troubles.. as in lack of a crowd.
Surely crowd violence is just something soccer fans get off on??
The 80's it used to kick off a bit, always remember regular trouble outside Thrum Hall and of course Hull derby games were not for the faint hearted back then!
Compared to soccer, even today, though it has alwys been quite mild.

I read the review on the book on a well known online book selling site (whose name is the same as the largest river in the world) and they said it was no great shakes.
This book is absolutely awful. Very badly written, but what do you expect from a moron who enjoys fighting.
This.
I read about half and gave up. Terrible book. Not worth the effort.
If you want to attract trouble I suggest donning some Wigan gear and wandering around the Halliwell on Wire-Wigan match day. Being female seems to help.
**Awaits as thread degenerates into usual 'every club has idiots' arguments...**

I've always quite liked the Dogs, its a pity that certain groups 'adopted' them as their local side.. that is of course certain individuals who spoil others otherwise spotless image
i've seen a few instances of crowd trouble over the last 20 odd years of watching fartown. . .roll call of shame of where i've experienced some sort of crowd trouble, batley, leigh, widnes, featherstone, castleford, wakefield, and of course the old favourites, hull kr and hull fc. also had hull fc,hull kr,york, leeds and salford misbehave at the galpharm, the opening of the stand behind the sticks at the galpharm was taken after a couple years trouble involving the lovely leeds chavs and york "fans" attacking home supporters
