Clear sending off without any doubt. Unnecessary and blatant but not the worst hit we've seen, but probably 2-3 games.
McIlorum cost us the game tonight and could have now cost us the play-offs by losing us our first-choice hooker, a massive presence in defence. He did this at KR last week, throwing shots and giving away penalties, costing us dearly - hope he's pleased with himself.
Prat. Hope Wane tears strips off him.
Yep, you'd have won relatively comfortably (for a Wigan v Saints game) with 13 men. He's a very good player but seems to have a bit of a Terry Newton idiocy streak in him, if he can control his aggression he'll be even better.

O'Loughlin was very lucky to stay on as well for his very deliberate high shot on Makinson, players have gone for far less than that this season.
When they got put under pressure Wigan's discipline went completely and it must be a worry for them. McIllorum is becoming as much of a mindless idiot as Terry Newton and the likes of Finch and Carmont could easily have walked for their reactions/paddies at the referee when Wilkin put in a good shot on O'Loughlin. I don't think Finch, Tomkins or Lima managed to play the ball without lashing out at the markers tonight either.
Their dedication to finding new ways to cheat their way around the rules is commendable though. Their new tactic that they tried two or three times tonight of deliberately passing the ball into a grounded tackler needs to be looked at very quickly or it could become farcical. If they do it deliberately it should be play on.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Unusually I agree with you, the last one when O Loughlin ' placed ' the ball on Robys back was quite ridiculous
Plus you forgot to mention the pushing the head into the tackled players face tactic as well
As I said on the Saints board. The difference between Wigan and Wire at the moment is that Wire can control their aggression, and when things get tough they keep their cool and defend fiercely whilst not taking it ''too far''. Wigan did not implode tonight like I thought when McIlorum got sent off, but some of the dirty tactics on show could easily have been punished, like Tomkins lashing out in the tackle and O'Loughlin's constant headhigh shots.
The ridiculous thing is, a loss was probably the best result for us tonight, as now we shouldn't be playing Saints twice more in the playoffs, that would have been 6 derby matches in a season...
Bit of a grubby game all round tonight. McIlorum really needs to control his moron streak. Oddly made me more confident though, to hold that match for so long with 12 men against 3rd place.
