Frayssinous was never a good player either. He was picked as demi d'ouverture for France at times when the best candidate was Maxime Greseque (who had a great season with Featherstone Rovers). http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/s ... -1-2268465

Frayssinous has led a charmed life in terms of getting good positions that he was actually not good enough for.

I am too busy with work to coach the Catalans. However there is speculation in the media that Catalans may make an offer to former coach Michael Potter.

Whatever his coaching limitations, Frayssinous does have rather large eyebrows.

Go on then, you got me. I will stick up for Laurent.

I think its fair to say that Bernard wasn't easy to work with.

If your boss regularly has a pop at your players for being useless, sometimes brandishing a meat cleaver, then you are going to struggle to assert authority.

The big name players have been a disaster over recent seasons. Looking at the likes of Carney and Taylor as prime examples. Were they Frayssinous signings? or Jouffret or Gausch?

Its sad for him but unless they appoint someone with an approach of standing up to the board, then things wont change, and they most definitely wont improve.

First sign of danger, Catalans dump their coach and yet Betts continues, seemingly without any threat of sacking. As a Rovers' fan, long may that continue, but seriously, are Widnes that blind/forgiving/bankrupt?

Betts has done reasonably well with a weak squad up to now.

Betts has had to use 40 players so far and we are only halfway into the season! I don't really know what else he could have done to be honest. I certainly don't think that he should be at risk due to circumstances out of his control. Yes, a good coach can get the best out of players, and clubs have a squad for a reason, but Widnes' situation has been exceptional to say the least.

2 wins (and a draw) from 14 games is hardly reasonably well is it. They're more relegation fodder then we were last season. I can see them not being good enough for the MPG.

I'm hoping (praying) we get automatic promotion and looking forward to the possibility of Toulouse vs Catalans in the MPG. Jean's head would go into a spin.
