JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
It was pretty clear on TV.....I'd say his season is over and rightly so.....Rowley's comments are laughable......
"We did have a monitor but we couldn't quite see,"
I'm starting to hope Widnes spank them this weekend and that then they need to beat Leeds to stand any chance of going up...the wheels falling of the beer tent bandwagon would be quite funny. Their pseudo fans on here and other sites are proving to be as myopic as any fans of a heartland club.....and yet another attendance" figure as far removed from the truth as is possible.

I understand the worries about Toronto’s underlying finances/stability and sometimes the style of their play. However I don’t understand why you’d get annoyed at the club because of some idiots on here. I don’t understand the dig at the crowd either. I’m sure I saw a figure announced somewhere of just under 8,000, which from what I saw during the game on tv wouldn’t look outlandish.

If you/London want SL,this is a fantastic chance to do it.After watching TW ,You have a golden opportunity. If you meet them in the MPG, due to recent biting behaviour,i believe they will be fitted with Hannibal Lecter style mask.

Force of habit being a London fan 6k there at the weekend, maximum....but Toronto hand out freebies (as do the local breweries) like confetti and count them all regardless of if they are used or not.

With out current owner, current ground and current squad, I wouldn't want us anywhere near SL thanks.....but that said, we would offer more VFM for both our Broadcast partner and our main sponsor than the other 2 teams will...... .....If we are to make the MPG v Toronto, let's hope Halifax and Leeds have knocked lumps out of them first, the RFL appoint a credible referee and SKY have a Video Ref in place (and they feed the mancanadians before KO)

This keeps on coming back, but the ground capacity is 9600 and with 8000 in there then there wouldn't be many gaps to be seen at all - but it still looked pretty sparse in places. If, as has been said before, a lot of folk are in the beer tent then that says it all as well. A game of this enormity and they can't be @rsed to watch the game?

The ground's legal capacity (fire & safety regs) is set at 9600. That doesn't necessarily mean that every seat in every row in every section of the stadium would have to be filled in order to reach 9600. That's the maximum number allowed in.
There are anywhere from 500 to 1000 people in the north end beer garden and another 200 or so in the south end where there are more tents and the VIP tents.
I was at the game (were you?) and believe me, people were rivetted. It was the closest home game we've ever had at Lamport and an absolute nail, er, biter.

cool story bro......still nowhere near the 7940 announced in the ground, riveted or not.

Up to 1000 folk who couldn't be bothered to watch your most important game of the season 'cos they'd rather have a beer? Wow, the Canadian public are completely riveted with RL.
It's a relatively small stadium, and 9600 looks realistic for every seat occupied. You can believe what you want, but a body count wouldn't be anywhere near 8,000.
If you do get promoted, and get tonked every week and finish at the bottom of the pile next year, let's see how many are turning up then (turning up, not been given free tickets).
Oh, and if you are in SL next season, then you'll need to get the TV deal sorted so we can have video reviews for dodgy tries. The other SL clubs aren't going to accept anything less.
