Lam's 2021 Wigan side had the 2nd worst attack in the league, despite playing the most games of any club in Super League. With 6 points against Wakefield next week, Wigan will have already equalled 2021's points scored this season. Wigan and Lam were just not a fit for each other. It was a painful experience watching the side back then.

Big shouts on both sides here. Lam has done a great job this season though and is a shoe-in for Coach of the Year.

Peet is still utterly reliant on two players and it's blatantly obvious that the rest of the team has regressed massively. Wigan under Lam only had one of Field/French fit and still reached the Grand Final and pushed the Champions extremely close. Lose one of them this season and Wigan would be nowhere near the final as they weren't with that embarassing collapse against a pitiful Leeds side last year.

2 players both signed by Lam and injured in his last season at Wigan.

Adrian Lam is an absolute brilliant coach at Leigh. On paper you would expect mid-table but with Lam in charge they're on fire and anything is possible. I can see us in 1 final this season.

Re: Wiggin I think they have some exceptional young talent in the forwards and it bodes well for the future. I also think Wiggin need a much better, more consistent goalkicker. Harry Smith is a very good player but I would definitely be looking for someone else to takeover goalkicking.

Having mutual friends with Lam it was a shame how he was treated at Wigan, he loved that club and hung out by Rads & Lenegan, they were constantly interfering with signings, re-signings and player issues that should have been Lams responsibility and meddling on playing matters.

For all his faults Derek has given him free reign, even before he agreed to sign as coach for Leigh he had a meeting with Derek and gave him some advice on young players who had potential (Ipape being one) next minute Derek has gone and signed them, that’s what tipped Lams decision to join Leigh, can you believe Wigans hierarchy wouldn’t sign off the signing of Ipape and he initially came over on peanuts.

Did they interfere with the signing of Burgess?

Don’t go there. Peets signings have been nothing short of terrible.

But it’s ok, as he comes across as a decent bloke on TV
