Hull KR are showing more ambition/have more resource than previously, but it’ll need to be sustained for a long time to shift the dial enough, imo - unless there’s a one-off ‘stars align’ season. It is a bit weird that that’s never happened across SL’s history, even once. Not specifically for Hull KR… for any of the less well-resourced clubs. Or maybe it just underlines the gulf. The better-resourced clubs will just always have another gear or more in the tank.

I think we’re stuck between stools as ‘other clubs’. Not quite ready to accept that nothing will ever change (like Scottish football, say - because that’d be ‘admitting defeat’) and instead fully enjoy or embrace our little subplots. But not quite able to do what’d be needed to change it.

He’s correct. Leeds (we) had a one-off era of players but have basically reverted to type pre-2004.

Saints and Wigan will trade titles from now on. Sometimes other teams will make the grand final, but they won’t win it.

Saints will have to sign some better players to do that.

Potentially. They already have a good spine and Clarke is very good. It’s likely Wigan will win it now for a few years though. When I say trade titles I don’t mean literally as in every other year I just mean over the next 5 years the winners column will only be Wigan and saints.

We are next in the pass the parcel circle.

It may be wishful thinking, but I've a feeling we are going to turn a corner this coming year.

I also think Saints are going to have a couple of seasons rebuilding.

I think Wigan will have a good run, and then we will be challenging for silverware with Saints hot on our heels.
