how long have you been watching Rugby there always been bits of trouble i will say it again it not good but it was not half as bad as people are making out and no i was not involved.

Been playing and watching Union since I could walk and League for 8......and I have no time for anyone who throws a bottle, plastic pint pot, coin, lighter or even a wobbly as the result of a sporting "injustice".
The Lions on Saturday showed how it should be done. Dodgy ref from last week became dodgier linesman this week and the management and fans accept his decision. Castleford fans feel aggrieved and spit their dummies out big style.....great example to set the Kids.
RESPECT used to be the moral high ground that Rugby (both codes) took when compared to soccer.....Alas, it seems that some people think it's OK to abuse the official (and I don't mean chants) and throw items onto the pitch towards players who have spent 80 minutes putting their bodies on the line.
Sorry, there is no excuse for it. Castleford RLFC need to send out a message that this is unacceptable by banning anyone involved in this sorry affair. To do anything else erodes the respect that we have as a family sport.
For the record, I swear like a docker at games sometimes, but if I ever threw anything on the pitch I would expect to be banned for life. Anyone who thinks the behaviour at Castleford is excuseable needs their heads looking at

So far this afternoon I’ve -

- PM’d a RLFANS admin asking if we can have a “Better Match Day Experience Fans Association” forum so we can have an online home base.

- Emailed my local MP asking for support and publicity

Exciting times!

"Tigers fans were, at the time, incensed by the performance of the referee in the game against Catalans Dragons and we are aware that some plastic bottles were thrown onto the pitch at the end of the game.
The Tigers CEO Richard Wright said: “I spoke with many fans at the end of the game and they felt bitterly disappointed with some of the referee’s decisions."
Sorry, but that is Justin Morgan territory. RESPECT....the campaign set up by the RFL has no chance if a senior person can get away with this.
The referee, right or wrong, makes decisions and they are final. To add the bit that I have put in bold is excusing the actions of fans.

So saying the fans weren't happy with the ref is the same as a coach saying a referee isn't up to standard and it was his fault Hull KR always lose when he's an official?

Like he did again in the League Express this week

No, what I am saying is that the statement from the club should simply be
"regardless of any perceived injustice, the club will not tolerate any abuse of officials or the throwing of objects and anyone found to have taken part in this sad episode will be banned for life and reported to the police"
Not........as has been done here, "they had a point".

Referees will always make mistakes (believe me, I have almost had heart attacks over some of Gansons), but they deserve our support and protection. Castlefords statement is an attempt to placate fans whilst being seen to do the right thing.
In other words, not worth the paper it was written on. I would love to be proved wrong, but IMO, not 1 fan will be issued with a ban over this!

I must have missed the part where Cas have actually said that those people had a point. As far as I can see, nowhere in that have the club said that they agree the ref was wrong.

They are simply stating the reason as to why bottles were thrown.
