SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Ah, moving the goalposts there somewhat. Fair enough.

Surely each team has their own marketing team, and community workers who have this in their remit?
So a ' team ' meaning more than one person , any less than 3 is a waste in my opinion , and this on top of F/T community staff otherwise they aren't doing their job properly
If that is not the case , what do York actually have ?

So you managed to attract a very good attendance at a TV game , most coming in on free tickets to watch their kids doing the pre and half time entertainment ?
Your ' commercial ' ie ' Commercial manager , not marketing team has managed to get part of the stadium sponsored and a bar that hopefully will bring in extra monies
Excellent , well done to all involved
Still not what Dave T or I was talking about
What sort of attendance are you expecting next week against Worky ?
What ' marketing ' is taking place in York this week to bring more fans in ?
Has your BOD spoke to Workingtons BOD to discuss what you and they can do to encourage more of their fans to attend the match ?
Have you got all the data from everybody that attended the TV game and have they been contacted since to encourage them to attend this week
If you have that data what mode of communication are your club using to inform them of upcoming games and any special offers you are offering in the future ?
What are your club intending to do differently to the TV game to bring in other people who didn't attend that game ?
What sort of Marketing ' budget ' do the people you do have , that can be spent on Marketing , is that money set at the start of the season before any playing budget is sorted ?
This is not a criticism of York , it is just what every club should be doing
Not just when on the TV but every week , all the time , ongoing

i thought the orthodoxy was that televising a game harms attendances? just out of curiousity how do you know that 'most' of the tickets were giveaways? im always curious as to people's sources for such bold statements.
