The only thing i have sen that comes close to that in a game of rugby was when Duncan Macrae assaulted Ronan O'Gara in a Lions game.

He was given a 7 match ban.

Flowers IMHO was worse.

I have never ever seen in a game of any sport a player full bloodedly kneel down and punch an unconcscious opponent man in the face.

That was without doubt the worst thing i can ever rember seeing in any sport.

Even cage fighters stop when the opponent is knocked out and that is being gracious to call that a sport.

It really really was terrible

Agreed, indefensible really.Do not want to see that on a rugby field again.

On the game, Saints were poor to only score 16 points against 12 men. Ben cost us the game for sure.

If he gets less than double that ban he'll be getting off lightly.

I appreciate you were at the game so wouldn't have as good a view as those of us who saw it on the tv but let me just stress Hohaia was ALREADY out cold when flower bent down and hit on the floor

Worse or not does that really matter? is that supposed to allay some of the guilt maybe?, it doesnt take away Flowers intent which was absolutely shocking .If I was Lance i would take legal advice for assault.

Firstly you can't press charges for an offence on a rugby pitch, stop being stupid.


Secondly as I said I'm not trying to justify or allay any guilt, just trying to find out what happened. Bored on the train on the way back init.

There are two pieces here.

You can't press charges for what goes on, on a rugby pitch but the police can. The law of the land doesn't stop on the edge of a rugby pitch. Would it happen, I think not.

I'm sure however Hohia could take a civil action if he wanted to. It would be open and shut.

You should be careful before you call other people stupid.
