Jensen was treated like dirt by certain members of the Huddersfield senior management team and board of directors which accounted for his alarming dip in form, before this he was a very good player for the club. Either way, he had a much better NRL pedigree than someone like Winterstein.
Thats one description for a garbage player.

What makes me laugh is the argument that a player in his late 20s or early 30s is somehow more valid than a young kid with his career ahead of him.
Winterstein may well turn out to be one of the best overseas signings of the season, we'll have to wait and see.

I think Marsdengiant's talking poop. Has he forgot about Chris Nero, he played no more than 5 games in the NRL and was twice the player Mick De Vere was.

What point, that wakey actually stack up quite well using your own info as comparison? Westwood, Mason, Blaymire, Brough, Snitch, Ferguson, Pitts, Bibb, Murphy Griffin, Blake......all playing in Super League right now!
yes, if you want to pretend Pitts, Bibb, Murphy, Blake are first team players
and you pretend Westwood, Mason, Blaymire, Brough, Snitch are the quality of player like Peacock, Fielden, Pryce, Yeaman, Horne, Cooke
but why would we pretend that

Didnt Hull FC sign a relatively unknown prop from Aus recently, cant remember his name. But i dont remember them getting aload of flack for it. I take into account HullFC have an excellent record in junior development.
well done on arguing against your own point
thats the reason they arent getting flack for it, but Moa still isnt the player we should be bringing over

Wakefield have been short of a big second row forward with an off load game since Solomona left. Now I am not for one minute suggesting that this kid is the next Solomona (before someone jumps in), but he has the attributes mentioned above that tend to be more prevalent in the South Sea Islanders than UK born players. The guy is still relatively young and his style of play is probably more suited to the Superleague than the NRL (which is more defensively orientated). Lets save opinion on the validity of the signing until he has actually arrived and can be judged on his performances on the field.
its not the valididty of his signing, however much you pretend it is,
its the validity of his signing when he is added to the 10 other players who have come from overseas
you can make all the lists you want regarding players like March and Spicer
it doesnt get away from the fact the the league isnt producing enough players to sustain it, evidenced by Wakefield, and HKR and Wigan and others needing soooooooo many overseas players because clubs like those mentioned are taking the easy option of relying on NRL rejects,

almost double isnt wide?
Yes, it's almost double and credit must go to Leeds for that superb achievement. But, putting aside issues like catchment area, finances etc - perhaps Leeds have also had a bit of luck along the way. Whilst the likes of Burrows and McGuire are top-notch homegrown players, will Leeds be able to produce a couple of halves good enough to replace them in the next five years? Possibly, but by no means definitely.
A top youth system will consistently produce decent players, but not always first-team players. Taking halves as an example, Saints who also boast an impressive youth set up brought both of theirs in from other clubs.
It's so easy to label certain signings as 'NRL reserve grade' and write them off as such, but until they've had a good pop at super league, how can they be written off? Especially when many big name 'NRL first graders' have failed to make an impact.
