I was there.
I believe that is the highest attendance for any league game.

Amazing how Wigan appear in so many record attendances isn't it.

Wigan V Saints attendance for that game played on 27th March 1959 was actually 47,477.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

It's a shame this thread has been slightly de-railed.

It's clear to see that alot of clubs (both SL and NL1) have had great attendences in the past and should be congratualted. We (as in SLRL) can only dream of repeating them.

However, I am sure, all jokes aside, most clubs would agree that Hull KR always take a large away following. While this may form part of a 'cliche' or 'joke' for some on here it cannot be denied that we provide alot of extra income for clubs which can only be positive. (Infact, the Bradford chairman has recently commented on how much he appreciates our support).

I don't comment often on here, but I really hope my fellow HKR fans can refrain from 'taking the bait' (from many on here) and just continue to support HKR in the most vocal way possible.... i.e. on the terraces!!

We may not have the highest 'home support' average, but certainly we must be amongst the highest away support average. I just wish all clubs followed their team as passionately away from home.

Joking aside you certainly took a lot to Cas last year, certainly the 2nd best in the league behind Leeds. We also had a lot of fans at the NRC final in 05' if you can remember it.. i would say there were a lot of KR fans there too, cracking day out. For me Wigan,Saints,Warrington didn't bring a lot to Cas (you could mabye exclude Wigan from that though) for the size of their clubs. Wakie,Hull and Bradford brought a lot more than i would have expected. Expected a lot from KR from the games i've been to not related to Cas. Salford brought a pathetic following on Saturday and Quins and Cats were both expected because of how far away they are.

This silly stuff about Hull KR taking the most fans everywhere has to stop, ok their fans are really good and make lots of noise but they do not take the most everywhere.

We take the most to Catalans, Harlequins, Wire and Saints.

In previous season we have taken more than 5000 to both Leeds and Bradford.

Leeds support around Yorkshire is pretty good as well.

They need to get their home support sorted first before they can even begin to start thinking about trying to gloat about having the best away support, they are not even over 10,000 average, and yeh they might blame it on away support, but we dont get any either appart from wire and saints and maybe if they got some good facilities, more people would go.

Not the other Friday at our's it wasn't!
