Because they start doing this around June/July time or even earlier, rather than throwing a squad of rejects together a month or two before the start of the season :?

So what's the point in having play-offs in the SL then? Nobody goes up?

In fact, what's the point in having champions in SL? There is no promotion is there?

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

No amount of bleating is going to change things.

Clubs in the Championship have to grasp the bull by the horns and make the competition a success in it's own right. Increased prize monies and sponsorship will help. Weekly live TV coverage should help to bring in sponsorship. It's up to these clubs - working with the RFL, to improve the standards in this league. Widnes are doing it. So are Halifax. So are Barrow and Featherstone.

Is it ?

In what way ?

So the simple answer is to have the Chamionship finish before the SL , like we did back in 2001 when Widnes mangaged to recruit well enough to finish 7 th in 2002

Not rocket science is it

But it isn't viable as long as you have expansion teams in as they might get relegated

That is the problem not that a heartland club might go down , they would survive

The problem we all have is that the RFL dont have the balls to admit what the problem really is

If they did we would accept it , us being straight talking northen folk and not souther ' jessies '
That still does not stop the problem of the relegated Super League club dominating the Championship competition and getting stripped of its foundations and any progress it had made over the past 5 years. As well as the fact that there would still be a massive influx of journeymen Australians, such as the ones Widnes signed that eventually led to them being relegated again 3 years later. It's alright saying 'they would survive', but really it is just ridiculous that people feel there should be a need for them to have to 'survive'. And bringing some anti-expansionist garbage isn't going to change that.

How about the chance to win the league you have been playing in all year?

So you admit that the removal of relegation and promotion is to protect expansion clubs

The players Widnes signed when they were promoted were not the ones that got them relegated , it was an almost totally different team

Once again you are falling into the trap of assuming that every club can avoid finishing bottom in a sporting competition , we hae a thread on the VT about it at the moment

For every winner there is a loser , dont forget that

Ok , Why should being on the TV at some point in the season help with sponsorship to the championship clubs ?

The deals for sponsors are done before you know wether you are on the telly
