You really don't have a clue do you? Thornley is out of contract at the end of the year and the total value that Sale have offered him roughly 70k. Would you pay someone that sort of money who hasn't played 1st grade yet? I suspect Marsh and Charnley will both get more games next year as Carmont leaves at the end of next year.

And IMO neither of the 4 you have mentioned should be in unless injuries occur, I wonder what will happen to the likes of Lomax, Dean etc... when you have a fully fit squad next year? Will you be saying the same that they should still be in the Saints 17? Doubt it.

Thornley was offered a decent contract by Wigan over 2 months ago. He stalled on signing it and has taken a considerable offer from RU. Hardly Wigans fault. Are you suggesting we start throwing over 60K a year at 18 year olds who havn't played one first team game?

You happily spend three times that on NRL players with no heart, so why not?

So now you're going back a few years. I was talking about the current Wigan squad. I wont bother arguing and let you carry on the myth that only Wigan have ever signed ex-NRL players who are vastly overrated and here for a pay-day.

The original arguement was made against the current management of Wigan RL and not against the Maurice Lindsay managed Wigan RL. And the current state of youth development and progression into the Wigan first team is very good indeed.

People complaining about these signings ousting young Wigan players should maybe take a look at who they are replacing; so just in case you've missed it:

Lima - Feka
Hoffman - Bailey
Finch - Riddell (and possibly Phelps).


Tell me how many young Wigan players you can count in that list?
