Fans/teams omit facts it's what they do. How many of you mention that you should of been kicked out the CC in 2008 when mentioning the final that year as an example.
Just for clarification I only mentioned that as it was a Hull Fc fan I was replying to. I could have mentioned how lucky Wigan were the year they stayed up at the cost of Cas with the 'use' of Dobson and Fielden and how they haven't looked back since. It never gets mentioned by Wigan fans.
When KR got into Super League you cannot blame them for using every loophole and trick to keep in the league (it took us long enough to get there) I am glad they did that to survive but now it is great to see so many hull lads playing in the team i support and watching players like Welham, Cox, Salter etc break through into the first team.
Moving to 5 or 6 next year is great though, but surely Rovers fans can understand why they've got a reputation for signing 'Aussies' when you look at that above?

I agree. We as a club have moved on though. Look at it this way. Our youth set up isn't very good BUT we as a club have moved away from exemptions (Lovegrove aside who has exemption still) and we are down to 5 (Lovegrove has personal exemption and would have fed trained status no matter where he played) and we have sorted out the quite frankly awful away supporter facilities. I know we have high historic debts but they are owed to loyal supporters who are not about to close the club but would rather write them off and walk away so on that score we are no worse off then before we came up. No doubt I am going to get slaughtered for this but surely folks can see that the club that is HKR is an awful lot better then the HKR that came up in 2006.
IMHO it's a box ticking sitiuation. Awful away facilities sorting-tick. Over reliance on overseas players sorted-tick. Hopefully the next thing is youth structure.

Appreciate what you're saying, and I agree (straying a bit from the point I was making though). I was only trying to point out where the reputation had come from (which some HKR fans were defending), and on recent past squad lists you can see why. 5/6 is a step in the right direction as you say.
Reputations take a while to build, keep that figure lowish and keep bringing through the youth and that reputation of an over-reliance on Aussies will be forgotten.
I'm not buying the Lovegrove 'homegrown' argument either. I know that by the rules he's classed as Fed Trained, but really, he's an Australian.

There is nothing to buy that is why I keep saying 6 and not 5 (But the fact is he is). It just grates a little that we we slagged off like crazy about CP and we went and got it sorted (By hook or by crook), We were abused about over reliance on overseas players and we have got that sorted too. Now what happens? Yes that's right the abuse just moves onto other things without even a well done by some on the bloody massive strides forward the club have made.

The aim of the game is to win. Tbh I really don't care what passports or accents players have if it helps us win more games. I don't see Chelsea or man utd fans fretting about overseas players like RL fans do. The. Again I don't see other fans fretting about crowds, sponsorship, facilities, foreign clubs or the quality of pies at grounds like RL fans do. You could do a phd in psychology on the navel gazing of RL fans!

Being thrown out of the cup for the offence, would have been way OTT, in my opinion.
