How is that rule policed? I've heard that rule being talked about, but I don't know the exact details of it. I assume they cannot ban a club from employing any relatives of players, so do they just make a judgement on the basis of what a fair wage would be in that scenario?

For example, Bibey's wife worked at Wakey until recently. Now quite clearly, he's not the type of player who you'd consider shennanigans to sneak under the salary cap, but how do the RFL work out it is all above board? I'd also guess there are still possibilities of this being circumvented by third parties such as sponsors, as much as the RFL can explicitly rule against it.

What stops them depositing "pots of gold" into offshore accounts for collection on route home. Dont believe it doesn't go on.

Its thought the highest paid player at Cas is on about 150kP/a, Brent Sherwin, With 4 or 5 on roughly 100k

so wigan have the top 2 paid players in the league? last season they did well to stay under the cap with barrett then.

didn't press reports have ryles on $550,000 a season? about 250k?

I mean at Wigan. Fielden is probably still one of the top earners in SL.

Barrett was on a sliding scale with his wage and he was also still being paid by St George. He had 12 months left there but they wanted to free up some salary cap space so they let him go early. Part of this deal involved them paying him about £30/40K for his first season at Wigan.

Barrett was widely rumoured to have been on

£180K first year
£200K second year
£220K third year (didn't do his third year)

Strong rumours around Wigan suggest that Maurice Lindsey offered David Vaeiliki's agent 200K a year. They accepted thinking it was $ but imagine their surprise when it turned out to be £.

Maurice never did get the hang of the cap.
