I think that we have a chance, but then the league is so competetive now that there are others like Saints, Leeds, Hull FC, Hull KR, Wakey, Wigan, Huddersfield, Quins etc. all have a good chance of the top 4 as well.

Celtic and Salford are simply not competetive enough this year and I don't feel that Warrington or Bradford are good enough either. Catalans also don't really look to be on the pace yet, but I wouldn't rule them out.

If I was to pick a top 8 so far (from what i've seen at this early stage) then it would be (in no particular order) :-

Leeds
Saints
Quins
Cas
Hull FC
Hull KR
Huddersfield
Wakey

We are improving every week and I love the fast flowing style that we are developing. We have some very quick and skillful players to fit that style and i'm sure that we will cut out more of the errors and become slicker, the more we play like that. I also feel that our forward pack is one of the best in the league, which is allowing the likes of Sherwin & Chase, as well as the likes of Goldie, Owen, Shenton & Dixon to work well in attack.

What we mustn't forget is that we are still rebuilding from our recent spells in the National Leagues and this season is the first season where we have been able to recruit properly. We brought around 9 or 10 players in this year and for the first time in ages we have competition for places.

When you bring that amount of new players in it takes time to gell though and personally I feel that we have adapted very quickly indeed.

I do feel we have a good chance of being one of the best sides in this league come the playoffs and i'm just looking forward to every game at the moment as I feel that there's nobody in this league who we can not beat. :)

On what evidence have you seen so far to say that Cas will finish 4 places above Wakey?

Considering that Wakey are matching Cas for performances. Also consider that Wakey have had one the most horrendous injury list's in SL history.

Do you really think if you took, Sherwin, Chase, Hudson, Sargent, Huby, Shenton and Owen out of your team you would be performing as well as Wakey? Because that would be the equivalent to our performances considering everything.

Because it's a forum and it's fan rivalry - are you for real. Me and Vegas go back a long way and we won't give an inch. I'd be alarmed if we did. We may love each other away from RL but when it comes to our teams no quarter given or asked for.

If that's ok with you oh sensitive one

You're so obviously biased with you opinions aren't you ? Cas have played well in there last 6 games bar 1 (against Hudds). It isn't 2004 or 2006 now we are a good side as we have proved. Talking of short memories i remember when all the Cas fans were cheering when the score came up on the big screen after we beat Salford for you to keep you up.

I'm not getting carried away but even if we beat Leeds,Saints and Hull 3 weeks on the trot we would still get no praise from you.

Top four very unlikely but not impossible - which is an improvement on what I'd have thought before the season started.

I'd be more than happy with a play off berth but much will depend on whether we stay lucky on the injuries front, especially to Sherwin!

Sometimes you can have too many of the same type of player on the pitch, you obviously haven't learned that from last year.

I would just like to publicly thank Vastman for the abusive pm he has just sent me.

It must make him feel really big having to stoop to such ridiculous and infantile actions.

If you read it again, CAS FAN clearly states in no particular order.

From what ive read, seen and heard cas are performing well at this time and FWIW they were playing good rugby last year, however didnt have the go-forward or good defence to get the results.

This year it seems they have improved tremendously in these areas. However as the "you will captiulate in 2nd half of the season" term has been applied to us wakey fans on numerous occasions. Who says cas will sustain these performances as they dont really have any form on sustaining results throughout the season (well apart from poor results(little joke  )).

Good luck to cas in achieving the top 8, and hopefully we'll see both wakey and cas in the play off's at the end of the season.

So to answer my question, if you had the players out I mentioned will you be performing as well as Wakey?

Wakey are performing well at the minute (pained me to say that) if we had those players missing that you metioned then we possibly wouldn't be playing as well as you, no. So the question i ask Kear is why change a winning side when Rooney etc do come back ?
