What absolute tosh!!!
So if there is a problem it is someone else who has caused it?
Since when has a referee been responsible for any player or spectator?
What would like them to do?
Wipe their backsides if they go to the loo?
Buy them a pint if they are thirsty?
Smooth the players furrowed brows when they drop the ball, miss a tackle, stand off side etc., etc..
No the answer is the people who caused the problem are people who limited intelligence who probably think society owes them everything and they owe society nothing.
And it's DEFINITELY not their fault no matter what happens.
It's about time they took PERSONAL responsibility for their actions and suffer the subsequent reactions.
I think in your haste to demonstrate your superior wit you have missed my point. Allow me to reiterate it.
People get annoyed for a reason. In this case it was because they felt the referee was not being as fair as he should be (i.e not going to the video ref for debatable tries, not being consistent with offsides, allowing a number of high tackles with no real sanction).
The referee's actions influence people. If he had been seen to be more consistent, people would not have been frustrated.
Again, before you jump in with a load of nonsense about how I am condoning the crowd reaction, I'm not. It was unacceptable. What I am saying is human beings react to events with emotion.
Event - rubbish ref
Emotion - anger
Result - aggression
