Salford are light years away from being a mid-table side, let alone top four or even GF winners.

As for their dodgy new owner, I don't rate him. Their fans will be screaming for his head before too long.

Steady on Brucie, I think the fans are chuffed to bits with the guy.
Perpetual strugglers to mid table isn't a bad start and I think he will splash some more cash to make then more competitive.
The problem wont be the fans wanting rid but, he could lose patience.

Long live the Fulham-London Crusaders-Broncos Harley-Quids Broncos (again) RLFC!

I think he's a breath of fresh air, and providing he doesn't saddle the club itself with debt (or borrow against it's assets) or other Bradrord-style shennaeghans then let him spend what he wants, it's HIS money and this is a DEMOCRACY not North flamin' Korea!

I think any club should be able to spend what it can afford, but we should have a rule of no "borrowing" or other financial skulduggerry! If that means a sugar-daddy can come along and bankroll Hunslet or Swinton to the Grand Final.....then so be it!

Ok he makes outlandish statements, but he is starting to give Salford an identify and turn it into a brand.

He's tuning a team who have been basement dwellers, posted small crowds and had no identify even in Salford into something bigger and better. In a couple of years they WILL be challenging for honours and considering what sort of club Salford have been, it's good for the game.

I think the first thing in Koukash's shopping list though is a hooker. One of most important positions and they have two woeful players playing there.

Pretty much this. If other club chairmen were as enthusiastic in talking up the game as Koukash is, we'd have significantly fewer problems as a sport than we currently do.

It was quite refreshing in his pre match interview to see him laying down the gauntlet those club chairmen that are holding this sport back, rather than following fashion and blaming the RFL for the world's ills.

Seconded. On the pre-match build up on Radio Manchester, the Manchester Evening News' RL writer Neil Barker made the point that no-one in the national media knows what's going on at Leeds (for example), but they know what's happening at Salford.

He's not a breath of fresh air, he's a tornado.

Would the salary cap not have been democratically voted in by the clubs?

And at the time it was voted in clubs like Salford would more than likely have voted in favour as it suited them would they not?

I don't know if your a Salford fan or not?

For the record whilst I understand the reasoning for a salary cap, it has done nothing to improve the competition.

Doesn't he know that historically attempts at world domination end in failure, admittedly not at the first real 'test'

The only thing the good doctor lacks in his quest for world domination is a fluffy white cat.

I hope he's been telling Noble and the boys that ''he will not tolerate failure'', whilst threatening them with a pool of flesh eating piranhas.

Well if they finish say 10/11th ( can't see them being in the relegation places) what will koukash do? Cut his losses and leave?

They really need to fans to show up first home game didn't they have like 7k there? And last night they may have gotten half of that, ino it was on a Thursday but it did kick off at 8 so plenty of time to get there. And if they slip towards the bottom the fans will most likely not show up so he may think why bother.

Salford were very poor last night, I think the squad is top heavy. 10 players of quality, 5 who will do a job and rest are garbage.

He has a massive god complex hence the Dr Evil similarites. I cringe every time those bafoons on Sky swoon round him and the constant references as him been a "good Doctor" make me cringe even more. Don't they know he only qualifies as a Doctor through a PHD in electrical Engineering?

6,353 attendance last night. Not brilliant but not too bad either. Suggests to me that expectation levels in Salford aren't entirely unrealistic and that crowds will build as his project develops. In a way, I'd have worried more for them had last night's game been a sell-out because to draw a crowd that size would have meant probably half would have turned up expecting an earth-shattering performance.
