It would largely be that but the usual suspects are here to shout it all down.
The choice for the game come the decision on TWP appears to be whether to go Transatlantic (hence Elstone included all three NA clubs in his deliberations)...... Which is one thing.......OR go back to Anglo-French.
All through this debate across the game there has been an idea that glamorous North American clubs offer us far far more than North of England championship clubs nobody across the world has ever heard of. But my point is that we can now see what the three north American clubs offer which is erm nothing, the only rich guy walked and the only potential investor wants to minimise his investment and grab TV money from here.
These subjects can't be isolated, yes we should talk about how well York and consequently Newcastle are doing on this thread, but we should recognise this is in the context of the opinion a number of people hold that we need these North American clubs because there's nobody in the championship good enough to come into Superleague.
What more do they want than two clubs with great ambition, £Millionaire owners, Great stadiums and player development systems they didn't have to have whilst outside Superleague? It's well worth reminding all on here how well York (and Newcastle) have done.....
The tremendous irony is of course there's a tendency for some Wakefield Fans to rubbish York and Newcastle, but I suppose as their club is struggling they may feel threatened by these clubs even if TWP get the boot. Wakey and TWP out and York and Newcastle in??. Would this greatly improve Superleague is the question now as the debate matures
I have you on ignore these days but braved a peek at this post. OMG, you are getting further and further off beam and all in the quest of wanting Toronto (and Catalan) out of SL It's just ridiculous.
Also, ignoring the league structure in some phoney attempt to "big up" the plight of York and Newcastle - both of whom I'm more than happy to see progress. The irony in your hatred of Toronto, who went for using money over grassroots RL to achieve top flight status and your love for two other clubs going the "money" root, is just hilarious. As for "rubbishing" these 2 clubs, seriously ??? Like I said, I wish them both well and the only rubbishing is because you seem to want to give them a free pass to the top flight because their owners have a few quid - that's not sport, not even close.

So I am not actually on ignore then
The owners can afford to run their clubs professionally no different to TWP (until Argyle left) except TWP didn't deliver any player development or sky dish sales but Newcastle and York offer both.
This is what the game wants to expand, expand the player pool not shift the same players all over the world at ridiculous expense.
Expand the commercial revenue not deplete it by showing phoney overseas clubs instead of clubs who offer TV subscription buying fans.....
Please ignore me personally all you want, but don't ignore what Perez offered the game here and that was NA TV subs and NA pro-players.
Don't ignore the fact neither were delivered and never will be.

Yor and/or Newcastle wont deliver a TV deal, they would both (rightly) want a slice of the existing/new deal should they make it into SL. Toronto didn't take any money ! (I realise that this may change should they come back into SL)
The irony of bigging up York, who just like Toronto hadn't won any of their early Championship fixtures is quite ironic. As said, I'd love for York to be good enough and for them to compete in SL but, your personal agenda is becoming ever more desperate> Just to help, here is a link to the league table before the season was halted: https://www.skysports.com/rugbyleague/c ... hip/tables.
Why aren't you advocating Leigh or Toulouse for the top flight both of whom, at the moment, are significantly stronger candidates then York (or Newcastle).

We can't have a logical and factual debate leading to an agreed conclusion unless you grasp some realities.
Superleague is a league based on selling subscriptions to English fans to watch their clubs.
It's a league in which the player base is based on member clubs producing as much talent as it can from this country.
What we want from our clubs is player development, fanbases buying SKY subscriptions and private non-returnable investment where we can get it accordingly. Put simply.....
1. Rich owners 2. Fans buying TV subscriptions to see their clubs playing Superleague on TV 3. Player production systems
This isn't even up for debate, it's just a fact.
Leigh do not fully tick these boxes and Toulouse don't tick any of the boxes, and you never seem to be able to grasp this?? Is it because, as you admit, you have a penchant for ignoring what people are saying?
The idea is they get their English fans buying SKY subscriptions.
There is a difference in terms of the North American clubs, they are required to actually deliver TV deals from their own country. You've see the quotes from Mr. Perez who openly accepted from the start he needed to find NA TV deals,
Seen any yet?
I wonder why Livolsi thinks he should have a slice of the TV deal when the reality always was NA clubs had to find their own TV deals as their fans can't subscribe to SKY like Newcastle and York fans can.

That also equates to a minimum of 50% of Super League too.
Yes, I know this but, the lack of securing a TV deal was top of a certain posters demands for jettisoning Toronto (pre their voluntary withdrawal).. Ultimately, any club taking Toronto's place will, quite rightly, want a slice of the TV monies, something that Toronto didn't take.
Anyway, it matters not.
York are not ready for SL yet but, come the time, if they gain promotion, I'm sure that they will be welcomed in, just as other promoted sides should be.

Toulouse satisfy point 3 of your made up list of criteria.
Point 2 doesn't even apply to them, don't know about point 1.
