What a slap in the face for ambitious Champ clubs. Only the RFL could release the “no promotion or relegation” news, on the same day (and after) the Toronto “sorry we don’t want to play this year, but we are good to go in SL next year” news. Easy fix for me (and I have been for TWP in the competitions over the years). Demote TWP at the end of the season, and hold a home and away playoff process for any Champ team interested in gaining promotion. If TWP want to continue in the British league system then it is a farce if they are not made to do what any other team would be made to do in this situation. The SL teams have voted to continue the competition, Toronto must be told, compete or be demoted.

Mate, TWP are NOT good to go next year at all. We have had them for what? four seasons and they've lost something like £12,000,000 and Argyle is saying he's not going to fund the club like that again and I can't see anyone else who wants to join them and throw their money in the gutter. Can you?

It's just not that either. The players they get only consider going when they can't get decent SL places here, and these players only then go if they are heavily overpaid. The small number TWP enticed are all set to walk away now, so who on earth would be daft enough to sign for them if the game here was daft enough to let them play again 2021???

Remember it's only TWP who are saying they are good to go 2021, they have a four year record of talking garbage.

How? Who is going to sign for them and how are the Superleague clubs going to accept them?? THEN who is going to bankroll them? Argylle is saying he won't put many $Millions in again. As he says this, he's trying to get on the Melbourne Storm board of directors. It's only them talking about starting again 2021, why do people fall for all the utter garbage they put out.

Way back when it started they were going to bring us Canadian players and TV deals and everyone who thought "that's great" seem to have forgotten they didn't bring us a single TV dollar nor any Canadians save poor old Quin Ngwata, who was never given much of a game just told to stand there as the token canadian. And I mean everyone. Check the TRL site!! Every man jack of them forgets what Perez promised for entry to the game here and didn't deliver. Some are worried Perez's Ottawa may be affected by TWP's collapse.

What they don't get is there is no Ottawa. Not a single backer turned up to Perez's launch. Whats that saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me??"

Sorry if it wasn’t clear. I DO NOT think they are good to go, hence the quotations around what they (TWP) are trying to sell. As I said, demote them, like would happen to any other team, then if they do stick around and want to compete in the Championship then MAYBE that could be considered.

The club which replaces Toronto in the 2021 Super League needs to be given the 'go ahead' as soon as possible so as to have time to reinforce their squad up to Super League standard.

Please don't apologise, your being too polite.

There is really nobody to demote. Argyle has told all the players to all go and get new clubs, so that's them gone. The staff will all go once the players have gone, and Argyle is looking to Melbourne.

TWP have no assets to dispose of, so when you and others talk about them as a "club" they aren't a club. There's no assets, they don't own a ground, there's no junior sides or academies, nobody plays RL in Canada and now nobody watches RL in Canada. Not even this year let alone next year.

Even I am at it now. In a few weeks there will be no "they". Argyle has just said he would like to be involved in TWP next year....

He WAS TWP so it's all PR nonsense, smoke and mirrors, jam tommorrow, the rubbish we have had to put up with for four years. And we still have people talking about Ottawa and New York as real clubs. It's all very surreal but it's all down to Nigel Wood who legitimised this utter charade.

Mate - there is virtually nobody left to "stick around" if you can name anyone who isn't leaving, let me know.....

Who may that be?

Featherstone, London, Leigh, Newcastle, Bradford & Widnes all aspire to Superleague.

None of them are prepared enough to go up now. None of then are prepared for fighting out a competition to see who is promoted. No such competition is planned for the autumn anyway.

Pick one "on paper" like licensing and the others will go apoplectic and may resort to their Lawyers. Don't we see what a horrible horrible mess Argylle has caused, who on earth in SL will let the man anywhere near the game here ever again, let alone Perez and the next phoney NA club.

I only have one solution. Stick Catalans in the Championship with Toulouse, and go with a 10 club English superleague next year............

YES it's harsh, but they are only guests and Gaucsh has basically aped Argylle this last few years and stuck two fingers up at SL bosses . Sadly the guest has to go......

A few people have gone quiet on here now , it was always a load of garbage and they have got a get out clause due to the virus which has only brought an earlier demise to what would have happened sooner or later . Anyhow i guess regular posters will be on here shortly apologizing to Donnyman :) .

Steph will probably blame Jeremy Corbyn for Toronto’s plight.
