Maybe they should ask the Canadian government for a loan then?

Worst "serious" post (forgetting the trolling) I've seen on here.

Their "leeway" is a Billionaire owner. A Billion is AT LEAST one thousand $$Million. He's most likely worth far more than that as his mines churn out the valuable minerals daily. Superleague is a cheap sport to fund, even if you have to pay for both sides transatlantic flights. Argyle could have funded anything, at any amount, for the rest of his days without batting an eyelid.

Plain truth is he's not interested anymore, as TRL posters say he's looking to personally reduce his shareholding and exposure in the club right down(i.e. dump it on someone else). As the Sydney Morning Herald said on the link I gave you he's wanting to buy into Melbourne storm who are now looking for additional investors.

The idea he needs "Leeway" is absurd. Now please stop calling me in every post you make, as you only make yourself look silly.

He's absolutely mega rich, all the rubbish about "costs" is unbelievable. Even more unbelievable is the club somehow forgot about Visa restrictions, Visas being perhaps the most important aspect of player management. They travel internationally all the time yet they supposedly "forgot" about Visas.

This reflects poorly on Nigel Wood, Ralph Rimmer and even Ian Lenegan all scared to death about what might happen if they were to boot them out. Take the debate back to the reality. Perez promised TWP would produce players quickly through grid iron conversions and would get a big NATV deal.

It never happened. Not one player and not one cent in four years and an admission (from McDermott) neither would be likely in the near future if ever. Yet nobody in the game ever called this out.

TWP was just a plaything for Argyle as he could not get into the NRL, he can now, and so he's tossed his toy away. lets just forget them and pick up the pieces and crack on with reality.

Genuine question -

Do 'we' (as a collective of fans) feel any obligation (if only a moral one) to the several thousand people who turned out to watch TWP every other week over the last couple of years?

What sort of message does it send to them if people on this side of the pond want them to fail?

Why do you suggest it is the end of Toronto Wolfpack? The owner has stated he will fund the side for next year.

There has been a pandemic which has caused problems.

As the pandemic took hold the governing body stated it would assist any club that suffers directly from the problems caused.

One Player Has Taken To Social Media

One club, where a fella called Hudgell gets a lot of publicity, stated he would refuse to pay if relegation was applied for this season. The same fella was grateful for a government loan being awarded.

That loan was not available to Toronto Wolfpack.

One eyed & deluded !

The "loan" was provided by the British Government for the benefit of the sport *in Britain* not to prop up a Club from Canada which pays it's taxes in Canada & has a *Billionaire* Australian owner !!!

I would suggest you look towards David 'Racist' Argyle to be the saviour of his own club instead of U.K taxpayers where ultimately that loan originates from.

It's their fans I feel for, many of which will have now become emotionally 'invested' in TWP & RL, maybe not to the extent of a 10, 20, 30, 40 year Fev, Leigh Hull or Batley fan but yes, it's the fans who suffer.

There is zero "obligation" to keep Toronto in Super League *especially as a U.K Club would suffer immediate ejection from SL to a lower league*, however I do believe there is a place for Toronto but that it should start again from Championship to save the integrity of the sport.

For all the smoke & mirrors , of which there are many, the Canada project should be given a chance, this would be helped by the ownership of TWP actually playing by the rules instead of attempting to force changes of rules in their favour with last minute embarrassment to the sport *not just this episode* , by paying their bills & by employing honesty rather than the deceipt they have shown since inception.

I have always disliked it but time for a 'New' open & transparent "Franchise" system whereby Toronto & A.N.Others can be invited on solid criteria & whereby abuse, deception & non compliance is rigorously punished. It's time that solid business plans, on field performance, stadia, attendance, community participation, academy's & ambition was rewarded & that hangers on were ejected.

Toronto have a place, that place should be temporarily involve demotion from Super League.

So the fans of Bulls, Rovers, Newcastle, Widnes, London and Leigh don't count then?

Yet again for maybe the 100th. time the solid criteria agreed between the RFL and Perez and repeated on TV by Perez was TWP were to develop north american players pretty quickly by starting with grid iron converts and find an NATV deal to share here.

Not a single player not a single TV dollar.

The utter nonsense about them getting no share of the TV deal is just that they were never due one they were getting their own.

Why does Argyle need a share of the deal? He's worth Hundred(s) of $milions.

It's just been revealed he's spent £18,000.000 on TWP which is nothing to him.

That revelation shows us a business model that is totally unsuatainable - what is the point of one club producing no players and no TV money being in Superleague.

More to the point what is the point of New York and Ottawa following them?

And the bottom line is what Steve? Castleford and Wakefield are relegated to let them in??

Mate, the criteria were rock solid - they developed their own players and got their own TV deal

Nobody wanted them to fail but fail they did,

Again they failed to get their own TV deal - that was the agreement.

They failed to develop any players - that was the agreement.

So you don't feel sorry for London Broncos fans made to go away for these people?
