Why do you suggest it is the end of Toronto Wolfpack? The owner has stated he will fund the side for next year.

There has been a pandemic which has caused problems.

As the pandemic took hold the governing body stated it would assist any club that suffers directly from the problems caused.

One Player Has Taken To Social Media

One club, where a fella called Hudgell gets a lot of publicity, stated he would refuse to pay if relegation was applied for this season. The same fella was grateful for a government loan being awarded.

That loan was not available to Toronto Wolfpack.

"I know you've had a bad day, but there's no need to take it out on me"

Re: Toronto Wolfpack may pull out of Superleague : Wed Jul 22, 2020 11:35 am
A Super League meeting has been called for Thursday where Toronto will outline their reasons for dropping out of the competition and argue why they should not be demoted.

Toronto CEO Bob Hunter will argue the club’s case with Super League considering sanctions for their withdrawal, including demotion.

Hunter revealed on Sportsnet that he will deliver a presentation to clubs in the hope of winning them over.

“We will know probably within a week to ten days what Super League’s position will be on us remaining at that level,” he said.

“I am actually giving a presentation to the Super League board on Thursday to give all the good reasons why we should remain, and explain in great detail why we couldn’t get through this year.

“We’ve talked about getting demoted to the Championship and if we do then we’re going to suck it up and figure out a solution, and get a competitive squad, to get us back to Super League.

“I don’t think there’s any way that in one of those two scenarios [the club won’t play next season]

“If the results are more detrimental than that then maybe it’s time to hang up the shield.”
Toronto currently don’t take any Sky money, which means each club gets in the region of an additional £150,000 per year, an undoubted incentive for other clubs. However, the Wolfpack now want a slice of that money.

“We need to be fully participating in television and other revenues, but 90% of those revenues are that deal with Sky.

“That is the critical factor in us continuing.”

That's just a bonus... I'm reading lengthy posts all over the place still making a case for the Magic Bean salesmen from Toronto.
That meeting on Thursday where Hunter makes his multiple good reasons for Toronto to play in SL 2021 plain for the chairmen to see should take all of 5 seconds to ponder then laugh him out of the UK.
Saying this the same should have happened on initial meeting when Toronto enquired. I honestly thought it was a wind up when heard about the possibility?
Toronto have took the proverbial in so many ways but it's a mess of our own making as was obviously doomed

Kind of concedes to me that they're ready for a demotion. I can't see any other reasonable outcome than this, they've withdrawn themselves, expect other clubs who are in hard times to restart operations, and then expect to continue in the competition next year? NO CHANCE

If they're serious about making it long term then start again, get yourself a sustainable model with an "affordable" team and go from there.

Leutele was the world's highest earning player on 800k a season i read? SBW on a 4million deal? Deals for Watkins and possibly Myler,Hall and rumored few others? Yet the squad consistently not paid? If the mining billionaire has stopped the bucks rolling in then what is left of that organisation? There must be more to come out regarding the behind the scenes management.
