I think leniency is shown to our two retarded Aussie posters.

a few weeks back you were trying to talk about RL in australia like an expert and if you live in the UK you cant have kept up to date with those that live here.

Dally, if you feel that people that don't live in the country can't keep up to date with things that happen there, then why are you commenting on England?

Another contradiction from the master of contradictions!

Hindy has covered this topic very well. I'll let him carry on. 8)

I still stand by this, Nines production of games is far superior. Heck you have to put up with the ad's but I'll take that for the benefit of the game. Too many dribblers on Fox. Bit sore about this one Dally.

One would assume if you weren't in Australia, you would be in a foreign country. Good work Dally! Still doesnt disprove that I am not up to date with the NRL. But hey in my line of work, its my job to keep up with the back room dealings of all sports (and I am not a journo)

in the words of gus gould, no, no, no, no no.

and good on yer for missing the point completely

I am aware of that, and I've given you examples of why a fourth game would devalue the origin concept and brand.

Thats debateable, they have been on top for those 3 years since. I am sure there were some converted and there still maybe some more after this season

But the main benefits were the new stadium (which should convert into fans) and a cash injection from the Victorian government for the ARL.

The other point to moot is that I would doubt that Quins RL would have the ability to turn any fans from this game into fans of Quins RL. But we'll save that for our own forum.

Origin is about coin? Finally I highly doubt such a venture would be profitable.

Yet again you fail to see the difference between these sports, their markets, the objectives and the way they were acheived.

1. the ARL did take an origin match half way round the world to LA so its been done before. it was a fair success too.

2. the ARU took a bledisloe game to hong kong solely for money, it sold out, and the players put on a spectacle. so yes, players can be motivated by money to perform.

its why they are professionals RL players.

3. the storms crowds immediately after the melbourne origin game rose by 4000 and stayed that way. if it was due to on field success, why did it only happen straight after origin.

and again, if other sports can take their blue ribbon events into other markets either to raise money or to promote the sport, why cant RL.

indeed RL itself did it with the millenium magic in wales and now the murrayfield magic as well.

if you want to grow RL, the best way is by an origin game. its unique to RL. and as the standard of play is mostly top notch, its the best way to get new people into RL. as has been shown in melbourne

What was the point I missed? You're the only one missing the point in these threads. Carry on with your throw away lines anyway.

One 9, I'll leave it at this....

Looks like other's seem to agree

Sam Chisholm, who ran the Nine Network for years but has also worked for BSkyB in Britain and Fox in the US, has been heard to say privately that, in his professional opinion, Nine's coverage of the NRL is the best television coverage of any football code anywhere in the world

the point you missed was its a fairly cheap way to make fun of someones arguments by saying it doesnt count because they dont live in the same country.

as i tried to show above, i couldve used it against you before in another thread and didnt.

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11
