I see Saints have signed a young English international. interesting. Shows you can indeed sign young English players.

Wigan are paying their antipodean army more than Shenton's getting too. Saints however don't see the point of destroying English RL by signing only NRL players. Doing it for the good of the sport, which is frankly good to see.

We were never in the runnig for him - I can confirm that. We have three of the best centres in the league.

I wouldnt go that far.
shentons better than atkins and imo at his age would offer long term more than King. But no, we weren't in the running.
Besides, Bridge is the best of the lot.

How many overseas players did you sign last year, becasue we signed none. How many English youngsters have we brought through again this year? 3 overseas coming in, 1 overseas already confirmed to be leaving and highly likely another 3 could be on their way out. So whats your point or is this just another dig at Wigan?

Nice try but do some research before talking. By the way what nationality is Josh Perry???

Disagree completely. Have you watched Warrington atall this season? Atkins over Shenton anyday he's in the top three for try assists, isn't that a centres main job.

Fantastic signing. To beat leeds, warrington and wigan to his signature, shows we are still the team to play for.

Not one of those other teams has ever confirmed interest in signing him. Just rumours, and we all know how accurate those are.

And when Shenton plays for a decent side, that comparison might be useful.

Fancy a centre in a second placed side setting up more tries than a centre in an 8th placed side. Mental.

Probably something to do with already having 9 at the club (Phelps, Carmont, Roberts, Richards, Tommy, Feka, Bailey, Riddell, Hansen)

We signed Soliola to take our total to 6 (Gidley, Soliola, Meli, Puletua, Flannery, Maurie), one of whom has played for England.

Hansen has been in this country for years and years, he went to school here.

Phelps- Likely to leave
Feka- Likely to leave
Riddell- Confirmed as leaving
Bailey- Likely to leave

So next season I make that 7, which is not the worst in the league. So like I said it must have been yet another tired attempt to have a dig at Wigan. Ignore all the English younsters coming through, and ignore that 12 of last fridays squad where English.

Next you lot will be whinging about our Aussie coach, oh wait you cant do that anymore can you?

I'm aware of that, but he plays for NZ so isn't eligible for England.

If that's what you're aiming for - fine. p.s. it's 8 with Hansen the NZ international.

You will have Carmont, Roberts, Richards, Tommy, Hansen, Hoffman, Lima and Finch all in your first choice 17 next year and all ineligible for England. That's half of your first 17 that can't play for the national side. If you're happy with that, great - you won't be getting 12 English lads in your 17 again for a while.

:? We haven't NOT had an aussie coach for about 15 years bar a short spell with Hanley.

Hansen plays for who ever he wants to, at last check he has been eligable for England, NZ, Somoa. So knows which country it is this year

By the way who's White???? This all started because someone was trying to have a dig at Wigan making it sound like we are the worst in the league for signing overseas players, which is completely untrue. We've got plenty of English youngsters at the club, and we have no need to worry.
