Jebus - people are moaning about the cost of drinks, hotel rooms and travelling time to Edinburgh from Yorkshire or Lancashire … and you offer them Paris!
“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”

I can guarantee there will be less pounds spent at a weekend in paris

Have you been to Paris. I have and have lived just outside of Paris due to a previous job. The words "complete dump" don't begin to sum up what it is like. The Parisian people as well bring new meaning to the words arrogant, ignorant and rude. It is them that ruin the reputation of the rest of the French. How Paris gets the "romantic, wonderful, city of lights" image it does is beyond me. The place would serve a better purpose if turned into a dechetterie.
If it was to be in France then somewhere in the south would have to be the venue.

Fair enough, I was just continuing the crazy ideas.
Would be intrigued to see what people's thoughts, particularly the last bit. I feel it is something which can only benefit the event and get local schools and organisations involved.

The weekend should stay, but your idea is one for April 1st.

Think its a good idea, apart from the 2 different locations - cant see it working at all, id keep it all in 1 stadium. Birmingham is a good central location but what is it like for an influx of people; hotels, camp sites ect? One been mentioned lately is Newcastle and St James Park - who have said they would be keen to host the event aswell, Okay its a bit further out for the likes of Cat,Quins and Crusaders but not as far as Murrayfield, and can cope with the influx of people and would be a cracking weekend for the mixture of fans during the day and the night.

As ive said previously elsewhere I usually run trips to the bigger Rugby occassions. After last year in Edinburgh and the problems with the pubs I couldn't raise a trip for this year.
I already know that if the weekend is moved back to Cardiff I could get 2 coach loads by the end of the day!
For the Millenium Weekend we stayed in Swansea. Fantastic night life and a short journey the next day to Cardiff where we met the carnival atmosphere in the City Centre pubs with the stadium in the background.
For Hulls Challenge Cup Final we stayed in Swindon. Again great nightlife with the same carnival atmosphere around Cardiff.
It needs to go back there and be left to develop itself for a few years. I'm sure after a few years we'd grow into that Stadium.
