Monaghan lost his place at five eighth to Lyon? I must have missed that.
Monas played one game at stand off in 2007 and one game there in 2006. I think you will find Lyon replaced Travis Burns.
Anyway, his form for Warrington has been poor but he's little more than a sideshow when Briers plays. Wire would be much better served by keeping Monaghan and replacing Briers with a less dominant half back.
Monas is a fine player whose best position is at hooker. If Tony Smith started Monaghan at number nine and rotated him with Higham they would be a much better side.
Could you please explain how he played his best at Manly whilst at scrum half?
I agree, that is a good point. Monaghan was a sensation in his last season at Manly but he was playing at Hooker. He was replaced by Orford at 7 a few seasons ago.
The big question has always been how good is Michael Monaghan. He is a strange player to work out. He has touches of brilliance at 7 but seems to lack consistency and seems to go missing in some games.
The position he is consistently good at is Hooker and that is not what Warrington need him to be. A return to the NRL may be the best move for him.
Maybe Warrington need to sign a good Stand off to replace him rather than a scrum half.
The same Michael Monaghan who played all his Canberra career at 7, went to Manly as a 7, played hooker for a season and a bit at Manly, had a storming last season at 7 while Orford was injured with Phil gould calling him the form halfback of the season and he should be playing for NSW?
well judging on canberras 2 games this year, you need him really badly.
Predictable, knee-jerk response. 2 rounds have been played. We're not about to lose a host of promising young players to gamble on a player who's had one good season ever.
damn right it's amusing you thick c***...everyone's laughing at you....again
if you want to compare jamie lyon's MoS award compare it to other player awards like (ironically) a dally M award or a clive churchill award though even thats pushing it given it's based on the performance in 1 game not a seaons worth of game ...and not a team trophy like a NRL title..especially when lyon was bagged throughout that season playing at 6 and only ever got good press when he was moved to Centre late on in games and generally crossed the whitewash..

you need him badly and the club is certainly chasing him

so jamie lyon winning the MOS and also an NRL trophy count for nothing.
