I'd go with that. Good time of year and should be some good games too. Could do the event in one day and offer all sorts of competitions and prizes to those who attend.

Great idea, but here lies the problem. The BBC does not have 4 sports channels, that could handle a full two day event, like Sky. It is very unlikely the the BBC would accept this package. If it did, it would probably be on the red button, which means that it wouldn't be seen by many non-RL watchers and sponsors wouldn't like that either.

But would definitely be an improvement. There's always BBC4 as well.

They could always start the season with 2 triple-headers and let Sky use that instead? Just alternate whose home game it counts as each season. Doesn't have to be derbies as it's already pretty local.

Leeds vs Wakey, Hull vs Bradford, Rovers vs Cas

North West TH @ Anfield/Goodison Park
Wigan vs Salford, Saints vs Widnes, Wire vs Hudds

Expansion on-the-road game anywhere
London vs Catalans

Still spreads the game. Still starts with a bang. Doesn't take the derbies away.

The problem with that is that no football club will allow 3 RL matches on their pitch in February.

On a technical note, BBC3 and BBC4 share the same satellite transponders as CBeebies and CBBC, it's just that they use different EPG numbers - which is why they don't start broadcasting until 7 p.m.
