Under that system, you'd be pretty miffed if you we are London fan paying £30 for a ticket that you probably couldn't use (unless you were forking out for flights and the rest).
I'd rather clubs just put their efforts into making CC ties into events that are actually worth attending.
I went to one of the all Super League ties yesterday, expecting a moderately competitive match. Unfortunately, it was clear from the start that one of those teams had absolutely no intention of making the event worthy of the £20 admission.
We aren't talking about an SL v C1 mismatch here. We are talking about two teams that are supposedly peers - on a level that is at least competitive, if not equal. If Wakefield had even tried yesterday then I imagine the 4,400 that did show up wouldn't have felt so ripped off.
And the number of people around town who had no idea that there was a game on suggests that Wakefield's marketing activity is bang on-song as well.
