tbf the assistants were cac as well one of them was young enough to be his grandson the other to be his grandad.

What got me was from were i sat Cunningham clearly influenced a decision change during the game and won saints a scrum (one off the perks at being at the game and seeing all off the action and having ears  )

Later on Danny Brough pointed out to Grandpa Jo that he maybe should off gone to spec savers as he missed a clear forward pass.

He then told the referee about this which the ref spoke to Danny told him off and .....well nothing

probably cos he recognises cunningham and the team he plays for could have affected his decision.

So it boils down he's a bad ref ... he's got a funny accent. wow.

Did i mention his accent? No...... his accent doesnt have any bearing on the fact that you cannot understand what he signals for.

no, it boils down to the fact that this what he appears to have been programmed to say by the RFL.

FWIW, his accent will always have a bearing on how he ref's a game. Did you hear Merrick having a chat with players during the Championship game the other night? Chatting to them letting them know what they are doing wrong rather than penalising them.

Unfortunately, Mr Alibert will not be able to do this. This isnt his fault, it's the RFL's for putting him in awkward situation. We dont have enough english ref's left.

Do you seriously think that Mrs Klein was unaffected by being called Mrs Klown every time she walked into Tesco's? Can you imagine what it must have been like for her to be confronted by the likes of vastman and his ilk every time she accompanied her husband when he officiated at Belle Vue?

Wouldn't you want to move to Australia under these dreadful social circumstances?

Unfortunately, this thread suggests otherwise. You've launched a diatribe against M Alibert's alleged incompetence based on

1) he reffed the offside in exactly the same way as every other ref in the world, talking to players, telling them they're offside and warning them not to get involved in play

2) your personal opinion that a player who wasn't interfering with play, was - based solely on the evidence that Danny Brough kicked out on the full. I've watched Danny play many times over the years: when he' good, he's brilliant; but he is a mercurial player more than capable of kicking out on the full on his own.

My comment stands. ;)

Right then lets go back to the start.

1) I think he is the worst ref I have ever seen. Simple as that. My opinion and quite frankly whatever you say or do will not sway that opinion. I am basing this on 32 years of watching the game.

2) I have nothing against him being French.
3) There might have been emotion in Friday's game, but whats his excuse for the Hull Cas game.

4) Offside at the play the ball, by the defensive team. I have never until I saw M Alibert last week known a ref to warn a player that he is offside AFTER the ball has been played. They note it and either blow up there and then or once the advantage ( if there is any) has been lost.

5) I am a Hull fan and have also seen DB play a fair amount of rugby. i also watch reserve grade where he spent the later part of his FC career. I know like every other kicker he has off days.
In this instance the Saints player was in front of him as he went to kick. The same Saints player who Alibert shouted to stating he was offside. I believe this effected DB's kick. It would at the very least be a contributing factor.
Saints then get the ball back ( handover / scrum I recall not) in a very advanced position, leading to a try, which incidentally came from a forward pass.

This same type of thing happened at the Hull Cas match which I assume you as a Cas fan went to. Or do I assume wrong there.?

Now if this is going to the case from now on, whats to stop a offside player running at the kicker on the 5th or 6th tackle everytime and putting the player off.?

1. If reasoned argument wont sway you, then you are an idiot, simple as that

2. Hmm, really? Previous posts suggest otherwise.

3. Dunno, why not ask him, maybe you are upset because Hull lost?

4. If you actually think that you cant watch many games. ALL refs do that.

5. All in your opinion. Since it seems you dont have the best grasp of the rules or refereeing, we'll just move on.

Try watching some games, I mean actually paying attention to them, you might learn the rules.
