You are entitled to your opinion. Bitterness would be you lacking reasons behind it, which you have articulated well.
Unfortunately, too many (way too many) don't. It really does hold the game back. It's ok for us who were born and bred it, but try bringing someone from outside the game in to join the sh*tshow online about new clubs.

I think the above says more about social media (and to a lesser extent on line forums), that it does against actual fans of RL.
Most comments on line are only discussed in black and white or at the extremes of the subject in question - a trait of the modern world but, thankfully, the real world is slightly different.
FWIW, if we are serious about expansion, it shouldn't be to the detriment of what we currently have, it should enhance it and the major fear, as I intimated previously, is that there is a plan to jettison a large chunk of SL and replace it with a number of N. American clubs, ironically filled with the very players that currently play for those SL clubs and the N. American clubs would have zero foundation- no academies or junior sides and certainly no competing in the academy leagues and let's not even think about the cup competitions, which they seem to be allowed to avoid, which means one hell of a risk to the game as a whole over here.
