And I'm sure you often made a fool of then.

I am speaking the truth, I notice you don't actually try and argue against what I'm saying, just the fact that I'm saying it at all.

If we're gonna delude ourselves lets go all out and say something like RL is overtaking Football because Leeds Rhino's got a crowd bigger than some Fulham games.

Instead of focussing on an Island of 3m people lets go all out and claim we're about to overtake Football worldwide. After all our World Cup final got a higher gate than some Football World Cup games!

You either don't know what a strawman argument is or you haven't read this thread. I suspect both. Try and explain exactly how it is a strawman,
I called you out on how ridiculous you were being when you compared Sydney clubs to the union state team. In response you attempted to compare the only pro RL team in all of NZ with a handfull of provincial union sides. Clearly a strawman argument, and a poor one at that.

Read the rest of the posts before you butt in. You'd see the reason I was comparing Waratahs gates to club League was to show Dally that it is pretty much what he is doing with NZ Warriors and isolated club Union games.
Before I butt in? If you don't want to read posts from other people you probably shouldn't be posting on a discussion forum...

This thread is almost half a dozen pages long. Do you really think I shouldn't be allowed to ridicule your posts simply because the discussion earlier in the thread was on a different subject?

ive had a massive"debate" with MD on this topic.

i disagree with him but everyones entitled to their opinion.

i think living in sydney and being a RL fan it cant get any better anywhere.

the choice of clubs to go to.

for example this weekend im off to homebush to watch souths as a season ticket holder

sat night and its down to the gong with my cousin whose a season ticket holder

and sunday im off with an english fan to watch the warriors keep manly at the bottom of the ladder.

it doesnt get any better than that.

and when it comes to knowledge about RL, australians are it. being exposed to so much RL in the media means even an average fans has so much more knowledge than even a hardcore english fan

the difference between union in australia and RL in NZ is this :

1. RU in australia is going backwards, RL in NZ is growing
2. RU in australia pretends to be a big sport. RL in NZ never exaggerates its popularity, which nevertheless is growing

And another thing to,when someone says something about the other you jump in straight away and give your facts. Now I'm not telling you not to ok don't get me wrong.

Its time for a change! We need to get rid of the idiots running the RLIF before they damage the sport beyond repair!

you just keep trying to convince yourself mate. it is the most intense and the highest standard of rugby (either code) on earth. super league is also extremely entertaining, and some of the top games are equal to if not better than some nrl games, but only has 2 or 3 games of such quality every week as opposed to the 7 or 8 in the nrl.

I agree.
I've never in a million years got the NRL is boring lark. I catch as much of it as I can, far superior. I find the tries far more entertaining because they take more skill to score.
There was an issue about all the kicking to the corner but if it became a real issue they'd just introduce that if the ball was defused in goal it would become a 20m tap. Soon stop teams kicking to the in goal.

Its only a strawman if you didn't read the thread which you didn't. You should at least read the preceding posts to not make yourself look like a fool.

If you had you would see that I was pointing out that Dallys example of the NZ Warriors is as bad as saying the NSW Waratahs show the decline of league. I wasn't suggesting for one second that union in NSW was as big as league.

The thread hadn't evolved, we were still discussing that very thing.

Not too quick are you champ? A stupid comment is a stupid comment, no matter what circumstances it was made in.

The fact that you're still back-peddling tells me a lot about what kind of person you are.

It wouldn't be a proper rugby league forum without a few unionite scumbags hanging around.
