Gaslight your talking to someone who disrespects the clubs policies anyways by doing this -

Despite the polite announcement not asking her to do so. If she showed such behavour on here she would be banned by now.

Wasting your time IMO.

We’ll be calling your neighbours scum and will be having a go at the police who come round to keep law and order. Just like certain fans do at games IMO although its seems acceptable.

Why do the club deserve a fine? Did club officials sanction the throwing of the flare? No, they didn't.

Salford took action internally. The RFL can see this and say "okay, you've dealt with it, we've no need to step in ourselves and get involved."

If the club hadn't done anything themselves and just ignored it then, fine, I could understand the RFL getting involved. But to deal with the problem themselves shows good initiative, nips any possible problems in the bud and means nobody else needs to get involved.

Was disgusted by the actions of some of my supposed fellow fans last night. I was appalled by some of the decisions myself (their first try, countless missed head-high tackles).

I can never say I've seen such animosity like that towards a match official, and ultimately it's a disgrace.

HOWEVER, the club shouldn't pay a penalty. At the end of the day it wasn't their fault as such - they don't condone the actions of those people. They should just tell us to employ more measures to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Employ more stewards in the stands and also possibly pay the police to come down in the last 10 minutes of matches and 30 mins after full-time.

In my opinion though, as well as investigating the culprits in the crowd, the RFL need to look at what happened to make fans react this way. Ultimately, the referee is responsible for the players and spectators in a match. He influences what happens, and if he had policed the game better then perhaps there wouldn't have been so much discontent in the crowd.

Obviously i'm not saying that throwing bottles onto the pitch is an acceptable way to show your frustrations, but the crowd were frustrated none the less, and a lot of that lies on the shoulders of the referee.

!'m not condoning BUT . . . " What a load of tripe. I've just finished watching the game, which was more interesting as I'd heard about the trouble so watched it with refereeing especially in mind, and if anything, Cas were favoured by the officials. The fans got themselves worked up into a lather and by the end they were booing as if their life depended on it even when they must have seen on the big screen the refs getting all the decisions right.

There was nothing exceptional or untoward about the officiating and any Cas fan that thought there was should watch the video in the cold light of day and hang their head in shame.

Even if somehow you got a bee in your bonnet about the ref, there certainly were no major debatable decisions that went Cats way or swung the match, and I have no clue what you are banging on about. NOTHING lies on the shoulders of the referee. Are you barkingly suggesting he should make decisions to please the home crowd?

peter parker wrote:
People get annoyed for a reason. In this case it was because they felt the referee was not being as fair as he should be (i.e not going to the video ref for debatable tries, not being consistent with offsides, allowing a number of high tackles with no real sanction).

What? I would be pretty certain that 99% of the people in the ground did not behave in the abominable manner complained of however much they might have booed and complained, and took the defeat on the chin at the end like almost all proper RL fans always do. But it is hardly people "getting annoyed" that anyone is complaining at, is it now?

peter parker wrote:
The referee's actions influence people. If he had been seen to be more consistent, people would not have been frustrated.

Utter bolox. Teh ref is there to do his job. Second, you speak as if it were self-evident that he was NOT "consistent" - As a neutral I've carefully watched the game and his performance and there was NO "inconsistency". Just 80 minutes of what all seemed perfectly reasonable decisions to me. And if he and his officials 100% see an inicdent then there is NO case to be made to "go to the VR" just to "placate the crowd". That's just rubbish, I'm afraid.

peter parker wrote:
Again, before you jump in with a load of nonsense about how I am condoning the crowd reaction, I'm not. It was unacceptable.

Yes you are condoning it. You claim not to be but then blame the referee for what is 100% the responsibility of the mindless morons who behaved in that way, and 0% the fault of the ref.

peter parker wrote:
What I am saying is human beings react to events with emotion.
-Well, yes.
peter parker wrote:
Event - rubbish ref
-in opinion of biased, one-eyed Cas fans who lost at home.
peter parker wrote:
Emotion - anger
-Anger? About what ffs? Nothing controversial happened!
peter parker wrote:
Result - aggression
- Now THAT is the absolutely most barking thing you have said. Nothing that any referee would ever do would justify aggression such as throwing missiles, beer etc. Let's be clear about that. People simply have to keep themselves under control and you are trying to somehow lessen or divert their personal responsibility away from where it squarely sits - with them.

Gaslight wrote:
Pelo was a double movement, ...

Only tos someone who has no clue what a double movement is. Pelo's body was in forward motion and he eneded up well over the line. He bounced in the process, but did nothing to promote the ball forward, and indeed hee couldn't have stopped himself getting way over the line even if you'd offered him a million pounds to stop short of it. I suggest you watch (especially) the side on reply and then read the rules.

peter parker wrote:

And as for the solution to the problem, a more consistent and competent refereeing display would have, in my opinion, meant no problems at all.

But your opinion is barking, as you are trying to say that refs should referee in some weird way acceptablke to you, so as to "prevent trouble" from mindless louts and thugs. You don't seem to be able to see how barking it is to think that a ref should be influenced in his decisions by thoughts of morons who might choose to throw bottles etc. These sort of people are for the police to deal with. They have nothing to do with refereeing.

All that is needed is for the thugs and louts to be identified, banned and prosecuted in appropriate cases. This would have the support of 99% of the decent Cas fans as well. That would just leave you, but you're weird.

however

It was during the game, that was it. He was daft at times, but at the end of the day, its a game and not everyone will agree with the calls

worry about your teams performance at the end of the day

disgusted with the bottle throwers and tbh im not suprised what went off because due to poor stewarding and mindless idiots this has been on the cards for sometime which many a cas fan will agree with.

it doesnt look good either that on the very night the poo its the fan the club offered massive discounts on drinks aswell has a happy hour on a saturday night "what a recipe for disaster".

i didnt witness any of the bottle throwing has i stand in the open end at the far side of the ground but what i witnessed after the game with around 100 people waiting for the ref to come out from dressing rooms to confront him, thankfully this was averted by ian smith been ushered away from the other end of the ground.

some so called suppporters should hang their heads in shame the way they carried on and it wasnt all kids and it wasnt all part timers it was people i see at games week in week out both at home and away who go to games with family.all in all a bad night for the club and i only hope that the club dont suffer for the result of a minority.

Tbh I think it would be unfair for cas to be made an example of when so many teams have seen trouble i the past.
Only this season i was coined at Knowsley Road and nothing went on there.

Deal with it internally and gets some banned given out.

I can't believe that with the economy the way it is, people would willingly waste perfectly good beer. That is as big a disgrace as anything IMO.

I didn't see the referee get anything majorly wrong tbh and I really couldn't understand the frustrations of the Cas crowd. It sounded as though they were fit to riot there and then throughout the second half.

It seems most of the Yorkshire pit towns breeds people with a bit of a chip on their shoulder and go out spoiling for a fight for unjustifiable reasons. I blame Thatcher.
