"The Public wants what the Public gets" - Paul Weller

Different Idea : Sat Mar 28, 2009 12:19 pm
from my wife.

First and formost she is NOT a RL fan except when they are hitting lumps out of each other  and takes no interest in the game at all otherwise.

She was watching the Batley/Gateshead match intermittently the other night, and was hearing the comments about the number of penalties and just piped up "Why don't they knock points off the score for giving penalties away, That would stop them!"

She said put it on that web thingy you use and see what they think, so here it is.

Worth a discussion about if nothing else.

I think they should do it, no more ridiculous than choosing your preferred play-off opponent and the resultant squealing about refs on these boards would make it all worthwhile.

Would we still have red and yellow cards or would they have scoring impact as well?

I'm just wondering if Newton gets angsty again Bradford might find ourselves losing by scores of 24 to -16

George Bush says 'we are losing the war on drugs'. Well you know what that implies? There's a war going on, and people on drugs are winning it! Well what does that tell you about drugs? Some smart, creative motherfookers on that side."

Penalties can cost teams big time, cost them 2 pionts or even the match. The current system is fine imo.

what i don't understand is that you can get sin binned for holding down and messing around the play the ball, but when you take someones head off or clean them out you only get a warning.

Tough. Conversations develop. It's their nature.

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

Would this not put even more pressure on refs, and lead to even more accusations of bias?

I think it sounds good in theory, but the controversy it would cause would make it impossible to implement imo.

Should we do 30 seconds silence each half?

At the end of the day rugby league is a game of two halves and I feel that we should respect a player in both halves instead of one.

Just a though..

It would give refs even more control over the outcome of the game. We should be looking to reduce that, not increase it.
