Anyone got any idea which is the best train to get to KR tonight? It looks like there isn't a station anywhere near the ground which is a PITA. I'll be travelling from Eccles so any suggestions would be appreciated. I can't leave work early so I won't be getting the train until about 6, how long am I going to need when I get off at the Stains end to get to the ground?

I normally get the train from Eccles to Lea Green. They run a bus on matchdays usually for £1 to the ground. Not sure if they still do, or the bus times, but you can get information in the pub at the station. Its called The Bull and Dog.

If not, a taxi from Lea Green station doesn't cost too much.

Plenty of street parking in the surrounding roads, if you don't want to park on the streets then De Le Salle School about 5 mins walk away offer parking for about £3 (possibly more now I haven't used it for a few seasons)

Nearest railway station to Knowsley Road is Thatto Heath. It's just over a mile away. Get the 1811 from Eccles to Huyton (arrives 1841) and then the 1846 from Huyton to Thatto Heath (arrives 1856). Then a 20-25 minute walk to the ground.

After the game, there's trains back from Thatto Heath to Eccles (via Huyton) at 2144 and 2246; unfortunately, there's a 35 minutes wait at Huyton between trains!
