Read today that talau is joining the coaching staff, what is he doing? and do hope it isn't to give SM an added voice in the coaching set up as doubt he will have that with Malc and can't see the Genius being anything other than brutally honest when asked a question.

When he actually managed to appear on the pitch he demonstrated why he scored so many tries at Saints. We need that as the current set up with McRae and Malc is a little lacking in that department.

James, Is that advert in addition to Willie and Malc?

From the match report on Aunty Beeb, though reading it I could have made the slightest booboo.

Willie Talau and regular skipper Malcolm Alker, who will remain on the coaching staff, are both retiring.

Well in theory now we have a attacking coach in Talau and a defensive coach in Alker and Mcrae at the point of the traiangle making all the decitons and not coaching the players....good thing or bad?

I think the match report was just missread, as said above. Don't think he's actually joining the coaching staff.

Talau is always marshalling the back line watching him yesterday he was prompting and pulling Sneyd and Broughton into line on defence , we may not have got the best out of him attacking wise but he has worked hard on defence , plausible story if were true .

not being one to correct lazy journalism, the "will remain" should have read in the singular "is remaining"
