Warrington Town vs Salford city on Saturday. First game in the Unibond league for Salford.

Also FC United's first game of the season at home vs Matlock.

Anyone going to either of these games?

I quite fancy Salford to win at Warrington. Don't know if I should be betting on non league football though?

I've been hoodwinked into going to the Cheadle Town-Newcastle Town match. The start of the FA Cup trail on 16th August  !!! A mate is a Cheadle fan and I can honestly say I can see Newcastle giving them a bit of a dicking

Cracking result for City last night...... another long run in Europe beckons

Also on Saturday, Irlam FC travel to Wigan Robin Park in the North West Counties League 1st Division. Irlam were hammered 6-0 at Norton in mid-week. :|

Can't see Irlam doing anything in the NWCL. They were never the best team in the Manchester League and only went up due to their ground. Their best players have always moved on to Salford/Trafford. I'd be surprised if they don't finish bottom six, even though there are some shocking teams in that division.

Cammell Laird is a bit of a basic ground, surprised they haven't switched the FCUM game - their bar is across the road from the ground rather than being inside IIRC (went there last year for an RMI friendly)

First Leigh Genesis 'home' game of the season tonight against Ashton United at Chorley. Hoping the siege mentality kicks in and we get a decent crowd, hopefully getting back the lads and roaring them on to victory (in relative terms!)

Come on the Leyth.

I'm planning on making that one, even more so now that Solly has pointed out that I'm going to miss the first home game with Curzon because we're in Bridgend.

Go to Cardiff-Norwich instead.

I'll be there then getting the choo choo to the Brewery in time for kick off with a bit of luck.
