The vast majority of fans are used to seeing us struggle and lose - it is not a new concept for us to accept defeat BUT the manner of how we are currently being defeated is becoming a major issue. All that most of us fans want is for our team to commit fully to the cause and perform as well as we feel (and know) they can - if defeats follow, it will not be due to not fighting our corner. As to the allusion of our desire for 'short termism'? Whilst we are only 4 games in and Mr McRae is perhaps 18 months or so in, many supporters have been watching these problems continue for donkeys' years.
I have some sympathy for Mr McRae because the players are letting him and us down!

That's not a good article and really doesn't do much for Shaun's PR. It essentially reads as "Well, if they think they know more about coaching than me then lets' hear it", when the attitude should be "I'll show them what I can do as a coach by getting my team up for competing in games".

Agreed. I don't think an arrogant attitude is the best response to a set of fans who are annoyed by about the performances.

Harrison did a pretty good job of that the year we made the play-offs...

Harrison had slightly better players than now to work with, granted we started well but things were tailing off long before the playoffs and in the playoff itself the knock on straight from the kickoff set the tone for the next 80mins. But I digress, in the end Harrison was another good man who was badly let down by players who failed.

I agree with most of what Mcrae had to say in that article- the booing of players (Parker in particular) is absolutley shocking, we are only 4 games into a new season and a higher standard of play so were bound to get a tonking here and there.

What i cant accept is the coach of our team telling the press that he can't understand why the fans are upset! That just seems a completely ludicrus thing to say and for me shows a complete disrespect for us as fans and the club.

Its not getting beat thats upsetting its the manor in which weve lost the game before its even started, and what seems to be a lack of effort by the players (bar one or two).

If as a coach Mcrae can't understand thats upsetting supporters then he's in the wrong sport let alone the job of coaching our team.

Does Shaun still do a post match talk with the fans like he used to do when at Hull and when they were playing at the Boulevard ?

Was very impressed with his relationship with the fans when we once slipped into the bar at the Boulevard after we played them there when KH was in charge of us.

Maybe it's the way his comments have come accross and maybe he really does welcome fans comments face to face and form a more relationship with us the fans ?

Nobody anyway should ignore constructive criticism and I am sure Shaun wouldn't, however we do have to keep it too this as a few always seem to get a bit giddy and go OTT.

I wonder if McRae's actual comments to the MEN were translated in a different kind of way to how it appeared in print?

100% agree with you, reporters are renowned for putting their own interpretation on what you say to them, & it mostly comes out entirely different from the way you quoted.

I actually feel sorry for the guy. Like every Salford coach I have known hes got crap material to work with. None of our players are good enough to be anywhere else. What is the man supposed to do, turn water into wine?

this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning
