saleslim, i too now work with 16-18 from what is called the NEET group, which will now get bigger, but there will be less funding, but good luck with your teaching dream, i was lucky my degree and post grad cost me nothing only time, teaching this age group does have its moments, oh and i am the union rep.

John Merry had a live web chat yesterday in the MEN and he too defended the stadium against some bloke from Irlam, who spend all his time moaning about Salford council on any news story on the MEN website, as he did yesterday, reading his stuff he is very anti council spending nad basically hates Salford i would suggest he moves somewhere else, or he may be standing on the taxpayer ticket, like the last one from Irlam who stood on the Anti-con charge got in and doesn't bother going to meetings (allegedly)
But don't forget quite a lot of the office workers might not come from Salford, so in their minds their job should come first over what the locals want.

As someone who worked in Local Authorities for over 35 years, (The last 13 years in Salford). I can state first hand how enthusiastic and commited the vast majority of colleagues were. I saw many community developments come to fruition, and the funding and investment we received resulted in the creation of many meaningful jobs and many sections of the community benefiting from the services provided.

It saddens me to hear that anyone, born and raised in this area, still has any kind of support of
Conservative policies given their historical ravaging of working class communities. Who better to put in charge of cuts than millionaires?

The Stadium proposal and the support of Salford Reds can only be of benefit to the community. Well done Salford City Council!
