That's a bit strong,Mike.
MK has tweeted that Fages and Sneyd are the future of this club, and Theo will have plenty of game time, which is the way it should be.
As I said previously I was very surprised at the starting 17,because I thought he might replace Smith,or Lee would move to loose forward.
The fact is that he is a crowd favourite and won't be off the scene for long.Long being the operative word because Sean Long will make him a better player.
In the meantime,Harris must come to his own conclusions and keep winning or the doctor will have HIM shuddering and turning pink !

I agree Theo is a great player but the hold he has over some of the posters on here is ridiculous.

For what it's worth I'd rather Theo player every couple of weeks at half back and be allowed to develop rather than being played week in week out as an impact hooker, which IMO will hinder his progress. I'm pretty sure Harris is thinking along the same lines.

This.

I've often felt as though some of our fans slightly overrate him based on the excitement of having a young player with so much obvious potential playing the first team.

I'm an admirer of Theo, and I think his ability is his biggest asset. He's a young player with a lot of skill to soak up from the likes of Chase and Long. He's viewed as the future and it would be stupid to burn him out early. He's had to tough it when he played week in week out in a garbage side. That will have toughened him up mentally. Now we have better structure in place, and quality around him for him to learn we'd be stupid to continually throw him in the deep end. Drip feeding him in is how we should do it, and I'll be surprised if that isn't what will happen.

I understand where some people are coming from who like him, but leaving him out of one game shouldn't be leading to hysterics at this stage.

I'd be concerned if he didn't appear at all, but let's give the new regime a chance before throwing teddies out of cots.

A lot of common sense being spouted on here. Well done all. In the main - Theo needs time and space with the quality surrounding him. He will benefit (& we will too) for years to come.

I'd just like to ask a favour.
Would someone point me in the right direction to find out how many tries we have conceded, thus far, when Adrian Morley is not on the pitch?
Or,perhaps,Tommy Lee.
Will the club statistician keep that type of record? If so how do I contact him/her?

Re: v Bradford : Sun Apr 13, 2014 6:38 pm
I think more what I meant in my exclamation about Theo being dropped was that Smith has been nothing much more than mediocre this season (and I defy anyone liking for Theo or not to say he has been better or offered more to the team) and can only really have retained his place on reputation. I appreciate Theo is a player for the future but equally he is also a player who deserves to be in contention for the present.

I for one hope that working along side two of the best halves in Harris and Lon and playing alongside Chase and Smith will take him to bigger and better things.

I can't see Wigan letting Tomkins staying on any former of permanent deal and doubt that Owen will be back (if at all) before the end of this season so see Theo as actually having a future in that position and also him growing into the utility halve/hooking position.

Theo is not a great player, at this moment in time he is a good prospect that is all he is. At the same ages Shaun Edwards was a great player he is not in that class by a long way, if Harris does not play him he as is reasons get behind are new coach. By the way does any one know if that Michigan is Theo's agent.
