I'm in agreement Jaymc9. We are all used to getting let down, but let's not get carried away.

There were some positives. Stapo was looking very dynamic in his second spell and seemed to cause problems. When Casmere took the ball at pace he too was a handful. Parker and Adamson worked really hard and Big Phil ran hard and always seemed capable of an offload.

We may have been out played and out smarted in the first half, but never felt the Pack was out of it's depth. Would possibly say we had better pack, a bonus that I cannot remember us ever having in the Super League era.

As long as the backs perform better over the next few weeks we should start to look like a good team.

exactly.

from what i seen our pack should be able to cope with most teams, it's just our back that will have to start throwing it about before 50 minutes. when we get going i think we could go on a good run

if people expect us to lose before we play they won't be dissapointed when we do will they.

I'm happy with 2 things yesterday, the way we played after half time (even though we didn't score enough) and our support we took. don't get too many away games but i was encouraged with how many of us there was.

Swain and a few others were blowing hard and stood hands on heads.

I think had Wakey still had Grix playing in the second half you would have suffered further. We lost a bit of direction once he went off. Drew was fantastic but can't be expected to do everything, especially not for 80 minutes.

Having said that I think you definitely performed much better second half and Leuluai was impressive.
Have to say I was very unimpressed with Jeremy Smith, he did nothing all game.

I think if you can play like you did in second half for 80 minutes against Cas you will give them a game, but I'm not sure you will beat them, they have improved a lot since last year. It may take your boys a while longer to get up to the pace.

I think a lot of criticism stems from last season, where despite achieving what the club set out to do, there were a lot of disenting voices against Shaun McRae’s style of play. There’s gonna be something about this in the next Turkey.

The reason Swain was blowing towards the end was because he did so much bloody work. Him, Adamson and Malc we by far our best men on the pitch. The amount of tackling Adamson did was phenominal. Thought it was a really boring match to be honest , we never looked a danger, wakefield always looked in control and the kicking in the 1st half was a disgrace. i agree with a previous comment about Henry being a centre, he offered the outside to Blanch who just ran around him with out having a hand put on him. Nash needs to be dropped as he was too powder puff and not enough aggression to take the team forward, we looked weaker when he came on. Littler was the only outside back to come out with any credit and thought Smith was average but Myler tried hard. Bring on next week and hopefully we can see what we have learnt!

Agree with most of your comments but not about Nash, thought he did ok.Biggest disappointments for me were Cashmere and Stapleton in the 1st 20 minutes when the game was lost. They improved in the second half and played well, especially Cashmere, but the game was over by then

I saw Nash get knocked back by half backs. For the size of the guy it shouldn't be happening and I know hes only a baby and he does have time on his side but he just looked below super league level for me. Agree with what you say about cashmere and stapo tho, didn't give us as much as they did last week , thought wakey's pack stood them up quite well, we need to be more than a one trick pony

waiting patiently for our new signings to be announced....

Well Wakey sunday..........

We started too slowly, they deserved their 19-0 lead at half time we were poor, 2nd half we were better, wakey were playing for time most of the 2nd half taking ages to restart play giving their forwards lots of rest.
We got desperate towards the end spilt a bit of ball and Wakey killed us off.

Individually think Henry looked a bit suspect but he is playing out of position so you cant bag him too much at the moment, Regarding the the Alker v Paul battle i recon Round 2 goes to Paul, Alker looked sluggish today conpaired to Celtic and Paul looked a lot better, not fab by all means but he certainly asked a few more questions of Wakeys defence.

Anyway role on Castleford.........lets hope we dont start like we did against wakey.

Got to agree about Nash, still doesn't convince me, think Jewwitt would give us more power coming of the bench, he is always enthusiastic & he has aggression (Iknow,!!! too much sometimes)but he is what the team needs although he can be a little hotheaded he does make yards when he goes forward.
Nash didn't get much game time last year, due to injuries most of it, so I can't see how he warrents being in the team rather than Jewwitt or Sidlow who played plenty of games last season, but McRea must see somethig we fans don't.
