Now Patten as told us he is leaving.Our master of comedy Simms,says it gives us time to look at the budget.
and decide where we are going,well Steve pack your bags,and we will have a lot more budget

Salford are a decent looking team, but not one worth full salary cap.

As a non Salford fan, I have NEVER understood how a) Simms got a job b) kept his job.

He has undoubtedly held you back year after year.

"Give me the tools and I will do the job" How can we be sure Simms isnt doing the best he can with the finances hes given ?? For all we know he may have been under financial constraint by Wilky and the board for years.

Here we go again... the team play rotten... and of course it's all the fault of Steve Simms. I didn't see Simms drop one ball or miss one tackle last night.

Admittedly... the problems lie a lot deeper than the playing side... but really ?

Why don't we save a discussion like this for when we've won ... because the problems are still there. Fact is... people won't... the red tinted specs come back on and people seem to think all the issues disappear when the team plays well... well they don't... They are always there, people just choose to bring them up when we physically look rubbish.

Totally agree with Loyal Fan. Sacking Steve Simms wouldn't really make that much difference. I'm definately NOT pro Steve Simms either, i feel the problems lie a lot deeper than Father Ted and i also agree that the Red Specs Brigade would have you fed to the sharks (Pardon The Pun ) for having this opinion during a winning streak, which would simply be papering over the cracks.

Why shouldn't the club look at the budget in the light of Patten leaving?How do you know -
(a)What contract Luke is on?
(b)What contract if any Steve Simms is on?and if he left who would do his job and what sort on money would that person want?
(c)What plans the club have for the next two years?on player retention/recruitment?

After yesterdays first half performance and some of the penalties, rightly given against us, its some of the players who should be looking over their shoulders

Like Wigan,we don't need one,so is money could go where It is needed.

You can't sack Simms....

...Nobody knows what he does.

He may be doing a fantastic job or he might be the worse thing since syphilis.
