The right choice imo. 'The City Reds' was fine, if a little uninspiring. 'The Red Devils' is fitting and a nod to our heritage as well as more marketable in the region. Away kit in his race colours is fine and exciting stuff with regards to the signings, whoever they may be.
More positives coming from Koukash, which is obviously a good thing. Looking forward to the announcement of these new singings. I wonder if they'll be immediate or just in place for next season? The 'Red Devils' brand will be very strong for us and should generate a buzz around the area with any luck. Fingers crossed we can put up a strong performance on Friday for the new potential fanbase.
100% agree with the article, very promising and very encouraging. An identity is needed, and what better one to use than the original Devil. Just hope we don't go down the route of applying a nickname to the stadium such as "The Devils Lair", or something like that.
Will be interesting to hear about the signings - I'll only manage one more match this season (Wakefield at home, back in the UK for 10 days then), and I really hope we're looking more competetive by then!

oh i dont know.... could you imagine selling it to away clubs "Welcome to HELL!!"
Superb move by the club / Koukash and one we should have carried out a long time ago with a return to the Red Devils. If marketed proper, could be a catalyst to pushing us forward
Never liked Salford City Reds, it was contrived for a reason, but never rolled off the tongue, or said anything about our clubs identity. Going back to our heyday and incorporating the nickname into our official name is brilliant. Perhaps the marketing machine can begin to roll and push this hard.
I,ve always thought for years that we should of been called the Salford Red Devils. Could never understand why we were never branded our original nick name. I could understand the City Reds because at the time, all the merger talk was about with the RFL wanting big city teams But it,s good news

But what about them who has has a City Reds Tattoo.
My instant reaction was that I wasn't too sure, but the more I think about it, the more I'm coming round to it with the 'Red Devils' name being closely associated with our history. Will take a bit of getting used to though.

Interesting quote, wonder who it is, maybe a union convert... ?
