Well we get rid of a few bell-ends and a couple of players tonight decide to replicate some of our indiscipline from last season.

That game was done and dusted and a couple of players need to take a long hard look at themselves after needlessly getting involved in petty poop which has cost us the game.

Absolutely f***ing stupid!!!

It is what it is...

Thought some silly penalties cost us, and we shouldn't be giving up leads like that. Fwiw I thought a draw was the fair result, but not to be. We weren't switched on enough in the second half and we need to do better to put teams to bed a lot more ruthlessly than we are. Still, we didn't embarrass ourselves in front of the cameras and we're still a new side gelling together. Discipline did cost us, and will need to be better.

At 30-12 they were out of the game. If they'd come back with scintillating rugby I could (begrudgngly) live with it but it's the manner with which we've thrown the points away. And it's Wire and I hate them with a passion so it hurts just that little bit more. I know we're moving in the right direction and in 24 hours I might have calmed down but right now I want to jump in the s0dding ship canal!!!

Well our indiscipline in the first half gave you the 18 point lead in the first place.

Impressed with Salford though, if you can maintain that first 60 minutes performance, you look good for the top 8.

Best of luck for rest of the season.

It's always our year.

The Lui break changed the game when he had it knocked out. Nothing wrong with the tackle and knocking ball out but the restart should of been a DG to Salford? Not to sure on the rules.

It's just a harsh lesson that we too had to learn when pushing the 'bigger sides' before breaking through. I can't count how many times St Helens did that to us over the years before we finally got one and the floodgates opened. It's hard to take but it's also heartening that you're mixing it consistently with the top of the table this season. Keep that up and you'll get over some like you did with Saints the other week. You were extremely unlucky against Wigan but you were your own enemy tonight.

From my point of view you had it won. Then Masella started getting a bit too rough and Currie wasn't standing for it. From that moment on Currie saw an opportunity to continue running at him and wind him up. It worked and we got down the right die of the field and from there you guys lost your hold and buckled. When it came to it Sandow had 3 salford players shutting him down and still got the ball over from 40 out. Lui and Dobson were 20 out and couldn't quite keep their cool.

It wasn't ill discipline, it was Mr Hicks being over enthusiastic and ruining what should have been a good game. It was his over use of the whistle that frustrated the players and caused the second half scuffle. He is simply not good enough.

First accept sadness. Realise that without losing 70% of the time, winning wouldn't be such a relief.

Re: Discipline : Thu Mar 03, 2016 10:49 pm
If that's 5 games into a 3 year plan I will take it with open arms after the dross I've witnessed over the past 2-3 years. Devastating way to lose obviously but aren't we seeing some real progress since Tim Sheen's been at the club? I just hope the manor of this defeat drives us on even more and doesn't dent the players spirit and enthusiasm. There's a long way to go but I feel the foundations for future success are starting to take shape.
If Sheen's sticks around I believe we will could get a big one over Warrington in the future. We have lost a very close battle tonight but we certainly haven't lost the war.

I totally agree with you.
Tit for tat penalties to show who is boss, then anything goes later.
This type of officiating went out with Sgt Mjr Eric Clay, this fellow Hick is not good enough, nor fit enough!

Both teams were heavily penalised in the 1st half around the play the ball. Don't know what the penalty count was but must have been high at half time. Hicks did his best to spoil the game.

Second half what cost us was stupid penalties when we had possession. Tompkins for dissent when we had the ball? And then BMM running and obstructing Currie after playing the ball.
