Totally agree. It's not just unfunny it is terribly unprofessional. Basically he is saying if anyone abuses me from the touchlines (which rightly or wrongly is quite likely given the nature of sport) I am giving forewarning that I will retaliate physically.
So image this scenario... after another depressing mauling I cry out "Jimmy, you are a rubbish coach", would he assault me? Or would he rise above with quiet dignity? The former and he would be out of a job and facing criminal proceedings immediately.
