What do you think the board have specified as a remit for Tony Smith. I'd go for:

Support JL and get his confidence back
Improve the performance of the team
Win a trophy!!

As I'm of the mind that there are issues we aren't aware of - I'm optimistic that he's been asked to sort out the off the field discipline too.

Thats a big ask. Hopefully he will have some input into a decent infastructure so we can see the the benefits of a disciplined organisation.

From what heard on the radio smith is going to be in charge of tactics, team talk etc hes not really there to support lowes

Why are people struggling to grasp what Tony Smiths job is?

Tony Smiths job is the same as what his job was at Leeds, and Lowes' job is the same as what Francis Cummins was to Smith.

Just as he will be at Warrington. I suspect the title is more to do with the contract Lowes has already signed, which would be expensive to break for the club, but the bottom line is exactly what it says on the tin: Smith is in charge.

I was trying to put it into a context that certain people would understand.

The club havn't really helped matters regarding the job titles they have branded about today.

Lowes is Smith's assistant, its as plain and simple as that.

Everything to do with the first team & the other sides we run, including telling Lowes where to place the cones.
