Right guys i know a few of you on here are in the know but
this word chicken wing as come up a few times over the weekend,
i think james roby was chicken winged on friday night.

on reading yesterdays rugby leaguer the word chicken leg,
was banded about,
now i know all about gouging and grapple tackle and squezzing the gonads (leon pryce)of a player,but i am at a loss as to these to techinques,
i know i will need someone like seb,or dave t ,or even the hitman to explain but if any one else can shed any light i thank you in advance...............................

The chicken wing is a technique where once tackled use use the ball carriers arm as a leaver to take him to the floor. If he doesn't submit then his shoulder / arm will end up broken.

Basically, put upwards preassure on the underside of the elbow and push hard. The player either has to let go off the ball to be bale to move his arm or shift his bodyweight backwards putting the tackler in control meaning that they win the collision and generally the floor as well.

on a slightly wider issue, did anyone see the complaints by matterson following the tigers giants game the other week and then the article from nathan brown sulking about whats been said.

Aparently he reckons he could introduce about 8 naughty person tactics into the game that our refs wouldn't have any clue about.

though, personally i think the name chicken wing is mis labelling it somewhat, it's more a fujiwara arm bar.
