He looks like a great prospect and has made his first team debut. Hands off :D

I travelled to Hull early so that I could attend the Academy game as well as the 1st Team game too.

Taylor-Wray plays like that regularly and is definitely a star of the future.

There isn`t currently a first team path for him at Wire, with Dufty playing fullback and Thewlis waiting to play there and playing on the wing at the moment.

If Thewlis settles for being a wing player, (Like Ashton has) Taylor-Wray could replace Dufty but he needs regular 1st team football soon so that he develops, because Academy games seem too easy for him and when he plays in our Reserves, the majority of players for both teams are just Academy players too.

A season long loan to a decent Championship club for next season would help him and extend him out of his current comfort zone,

I have not seen enough of him but perhaps others have. Can Taylor-Wray possibly play in another position?

Maybe introduce him to the first team on the wing in due course with Thewlis at fullback and Ashton on the other wing. Adding Lindop and Wrench (subject to sorting out fitness and defensive issues) at centre would give us a ridiculously quick back line.

Chambers sees Taylor-Wray as eventually taking over from Dufty. Duftys current deal is up in 2026 at which point Taylor-Wray will be 19 or 20 I think and Dufty 30.

They will also want to ensure he isn’t overplayed too young.

Thewlis I think is being seen as a winger now.

This makes sense, plenty of time for development. Thewlis as been on the wing for a good chunk of time now and even if his preferred position is fullback, the timing for the young lad works out well in the scenario.

If Taylor-Wray is that good they will find that 2 years is too long. This long term planning probably won't work as some-one will pop in & give him a lucrative contract.
