I don't have a problem with KF and his media 'noise'. You have to shout to be heard, and he is certainly bringing the club to peoples attention. Yes, some of it we will not appreciate, but if it results in more speccies, either at matches or for tv then he is doing his job surely ? And with no guaranteed contract with Sky after this one, clubs may be scrambling for £1.5M of income when it expires.

The problem however is he doesn't seem to be completing the core activities. So if he is expanding his media offering to Tik Tok, then he should be ensuring the website is both professional and up to date. Similarly if he wants to bring in a marquee player like Widdop to wow the supporters, he also needs to ensure that we have recruited a couple of half decent bench props first.

I'm all for activity to attract new spectators - but does anybody really start following a club because they have heard they do social media wind ups?

I know we are mostly long standing fans on here, but if say a new franchise ice hockey team launched in Warrington, would you be more likely to follow them if they started baiting the Sheffield Steelers on twitter (and then getting beat by them)? It just doesn't make sense to me as a factor that would attract me to starting watching someone?

Now if I heard that they had signed some ice hockey player that seemed to have a major profile in the game, or if there was genuine excitement that the Warrington team played the best and most exciting hockey in the league, I might be tempted to give them a go. But not just because they do social media wind ups.

I think you are mixing two activities together. The Wolfie antics are all about Publicity, or in KF speak 'brand awareness'. Marketing is all about promoting the product - the benefits, superiority to its competitors etc. I suppose with Man U, Man City, Liverpool within easy reach, plus all the other sports and activities available at the weekend (fishing at Bridge Foot, hang gliding from the Lever spray drying tower etc, etc), KF has decided that we need some brand awareness. Ironically, the Wire Hockey team is probably a very good example of raising awareness of a new club / activity. I suppose for newbies, or people who had got into the rut of hand gliding every week, the publicity should say 'there is other stuff you can do as well'. The Marketing will be reliant on the spectacle of the rugby and winning the CC, and the first of those may be a bit of a hard sell atm.

Well the servers have been taken down for planned maintenance so it would appear the new website is coming.

I just don't get the lack of information or 'publicity' over the 'new' website. Perhaps it is not a new website but just an upgrade of some sort so excitement needs to be tempered. This 'silence' might maker more sense then, so as to lower peoples expectations. When you see the club expanding its presence on other social media outlets this website issue is strange. If it has all gone awol, which can happen with IT related projects, why not just say so although a readiness for a new season would seem an obvious target / objective.

I fail to see why our Challenge Cup win (4.5 months ago) does not feature on our honours board.

I guess because they see a new site coming and feel their time would be better spent elsewhere? It should have been updated but it's a minor annoyance surely?

It's the principle for me.

If "new website coming" was the reason to have a moratorium on web updates then it doesn't make sense that they updated the website with a news story such as the renaming of the One Energy Legends Lounge.

Honours are hard won and span and out-live CEOs, directors, owners, players and fans. They stand for all time and are the historic achievements of the club. They are the written testament of the entire raison d'être and proud record of the club. FFS it's a 1 minute job and should have been updated months ago if they gave a to$$.
