I'm sure the journalists at the Warrington Guardian are all over getting the scoop, leaving no stone unturned, asking the tough questions.

Either that or cutting and pasting some churnalism from the Wire press office and calling it an exclusive.

Can't separate fact from fiction or hearsay from heresy here!
Confused.

Apart from the last game he played, Matty has filled in well.
His limitations were known before we signed him, as were his strengths.
I've no complaints with his re-signing, and 2nd time round he has been a much more rounded player.
His loan to Leeds helps him and us.
He's unlikely to get a new contract at Wire, so it's good he has a chance to put his capabilities - good and bad - on show.

Tbh that penalty for the pass off the ground cum pass after held had been called could easily have been "go back & play the ball ". A lot depends on how refs interpret rules on the day.

Russell said that his latest contract at Wire included a clause about limiting his alcohol usage.

If there has been an issue recently. then maybe we have loaned him out which gives him a chance of a new contract somewhere else, rather than sacking him which would have limited his opportunities?

It's a shame to see a 30 year old player moving about on loan. Probably would be better with a real contract at a decent Championship club.
